JIBE reflections
Dang what a great event Angus organized. Thanks for all the planning and hard work you did to organize everything, it was so much fun
the beach was great, the turtle research center was such a cool gathering, just wish I couldve brought my students to see it.
I'm so happy that I finally got to meet so many of you that I've talked to for so long. Mougl, what a funny dude....Fran was was such a cool girl to
bring to a kite event. Two of the most enthusiastic people I've ran into.
Scotty, thanks for dinner and letting joy and I chill with your family. You've got the greatest family ever.
Drew, you and your wife are such a fun couple. I'm so glad to see young people doing so well. I love sharing traveling stories.
Tridude! I'm so glad to have finally met you. I wish I couldve talked to you more
Nathaniel, where the crap did this kid come from!? So good at landboarding.
Phil thanks for being so friendly, got a good photo of you that I'm submitting to the PL website.
Chad, I barely saw you this weekend buy when I did you were throwing kite loops!
Dean I'm so glad to see you in tr buggy again
Chris at HQ, you are at all of the events and I still don't know you well, but you are always smiling. Thanks for being so awesome to te public and te
beginners, I know it can be stressful sometimes
Danny, I'm so glad you showed up. You are one of the most genuinly nicest people I've ever met! You gotta go to NABX next year.
Chad rich and Todd, you guys are Kooks
lol still some of my own family
This week was a blast. I had so much fun. I was able to spend more time teaching people than flying my own kites lol. Wind was low for what I'm used
to but the 19 charger made it work
I usually spend more time hanging out with everybody, buy most of you know it was my honeymoon, so I was trying to split my time. If I didn't get to
talk to you or help you I am so sorry. This event was so relaxed.......except for the wicked back blisters from the sunburns!
I hope everybody had a wonderful time, if I've missed your name I'm sorry. I've been driving for 10 hours and still have anoter 6 to go.
Thanks for the people who let joy use the landsailer/blokarts. She loved it. Now I have to get her one......dangit.
I have lots of pictures I'm going to post on here and on my blog this week.
Angus thanks again for everything. I know you did a ton of work, it won't go unnoticed.
Anything I forgot to mention? Oh yeah EVERYBODY was so much fun!

I wish I could have joined you guys. Employment over ruled my plans at the last minute. Beaches there are realy nice.... Next year they wil be
on my vacation schedule (just hard to work for a week and demand a week off this year).
We stayed at a hotel on Jekyll before. Next time we will bring our telescope with us... nice dark skies, hot hot tub, what a perfect place to view
the planets at night... and fly kites during the day.
What do you do with your foils?
Charger 8, 12, 19
Scorpion 10, 16
And other foils...

Man - What a great weekend. I can't wait to go to more events.
I'm mostly a lurker and it has been interesting meeting some of you guys in real life.
Definitely want to thank phillip, tim, ruth, and dean for their hospitality.
todd - It was a please meeting you! Can't wait to check out your JIBE videos!
adam/joy - One of the coolest people Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting! Adam really helped take my skills up a notch (best teacher ever). It was so
much fun watching adam tear it up - even in the winds that we were dealing with.
andrew/brittney - It was really awesome watching andrew flying by fast on the buggys and atb. Brittney was also a great person to sit and talk to.
tridude - A really nice person to meet. the guy even lent me his spleen.
chris - Super nice guy!! It was a pleasure testing out his flysurfer pluse 2. I loved trying out his blokart. Him letting my parents use his blokart
was the main reason my parents had such a great time at Jibe.
angus - Thanks for setting up the whole event. It was a pleasure meeting the guy who I buy a ton of stuff online from.
Scott - If anyone were to crash there kite into mine, I hope it would be this guy again. Funny, nice, it was a joy watching him on the atb.
man, what a great week.

First off- thanks to angus for putting together a wonderful event and bringing his drill so i could repair the FLY (zooter), the family liked it soo
much that next year we are coming for the whole week.
As always really enjoyed meeting everyone- and since this was my wifes first event all she could say was how amazingly nice and friendly everyone
was. I really appreciated all that kept an "eye" on Andrew as he cruised up and down the beach. I checked his gps from friday and he rode 38 miles,
top speed of 31.4 and had an avg moving speed of 19.1- not bad for an 11 yr. old. He had a blast on the bug, so much so that he did not want to board
with me but was willing to put the 10m vortex up for a little while. Yeah i am a proud papa.
Kudos to adam as well for helping me fine tune some air skills, not sure how many jumps i did but know that i landed more then didnt.
Really enjoyed talks bikes with Don and offering the spleen door even though i decided to stay on land since i was having too much fun.
Chris, thanks gfor the awesome cookies and watching over the bugs at night.
Chris (HQ) for the help with the apex
Phillip[, for all the tips you gave Devan on the zooter near shipwreck
Danny for the tandem ride for my younger son Carter
todd for the video work and everyone else for a wonderful gathering

Only got to spend about a half hour in the buggy Saturday! I spent most of the morning trying to find a set of bearings for my front tire. I will make
sure that doesn't happen again!
I totally wasted the bearing Friday going to shipwreck. Todd and I were the first ones to make the trek on Friday early. Two brand spanking new 18
Phanny's heading out, I can only imagine what a site it must have been! It was a rough go once we rounded the second point! The wind had not
completely shifted at that point so the tacking that had to be done to get us there and back was a feat all in it's own. We got down to the second
point and there were several tidal pools. We went through several small ones to go around some school classes. One of the pools had a huge deep return
going back into the water and we had no choice but to go on through! Felt good actually, but was not nice to my bearings! They were a little on the
old side, but still had a blast Friday was a great one for me as well as many others!
I cannot tell you how nice it was to meet each and every one of you.
Some of which I have had many conversations with before I got there and others that I have conversed with through PKF a couple of times. It is always
nice to put a face to the PKF name! What a great group and an awesome beach(GA is a little warm for my likings, but fun none the less)
Thanks to Angus for a great event. Good work and I hope to see several of you guys as WW sometime in the future,(sooner than later would be nice, but
I hope it happens sometime)
Chris, and Frank,Many props to you for putting the ECKS crew up for a couple of days! Your hospitality and comic relief are just like being at home!
Joy, it was great to finally meet the great woman that supports such a great Guy in his sport. Adam has caught a one in a million kinda lady! Congrats
again on the wedding.
Tri, it was great to finally be able to shake your hand! Great enthusiasm for the sport!
Well I could go on and on, but I will say again it was a pleasure to meet all of you!
You guys and gals were the treat, The buggying was the bonus!

This trip was amazing! I want to thank angus for everything, yet again lol! He goes to the absolute limit to help everyone, with everything.... And
an event like this, just wouldn't be the same without him! It was great to finally meet my "dealer"
Scott.... Well... Haha!
I still think we are related, not sure how, but the similarities are freaky! Thanks for the cans of go juice, the buggy rides, loaning me the atb,
and all the laughs! Fran is a great gal, and you two seem really happy together, best wishes there man!
Rocky, you are a riot man! I can see why the press follows you everywhere!
I'm glad we made the shipwreck run, even though you were working way harder than I was! Brit and I really enjoyed hanging out with you and your wife,
good times! I hope your surf lessons went well, I saw ya out there just as I was leaving!
Adam, dude, you rock! Always helping everyone, always encouraging everyone, and even though you were burnt to a crisp, you still threw down, and tore
up that beach! It was so cool to ride with you and all the other arcs on friday, and see all the jumps and tricks! Best seat in the house for that
show!
The whole time I just kept thinking, "why couldn't I have had a teacher like him growing up?" It was great to meet Joy as well. For all of her travels, and world experience, she is a down to earth chick, and great to chat
with. I know Brit really enjoyed talking to her!
Pokite, Frank, burgers and sandwiches in shrimp country? I don't get it lol! It was awesome hanging with you guys! thanks for guarding the bugs,
and providing a bit of shade when the wind died.... And thanks for letting me raid your toolbox a couple of times. The blokarts were a blast as well!
Just being able to meet everyone was worth the trip itself, Dean, thanks for the advice and the purple do-rag; Don and chad, absolutely honored to
meet you guys. The hq guys were great! I really liked the toxic, and they were always ready to lend a hand! Flyguy and his son Andrew were a blast
to ride with, Andrew is such a great kid, it would be hard not to be a proud papa in your shoes! Shehatesmy, we didn't talk to much, but it was good
hanging with ya; same with todd (looking forward to all the great video btw) good to see ya there and buggying!
To everyone that got a bottle of scottsbluff brew, let me know how that went
Sorry if I didn't get ya here, but it was nothing shy of amazing being here for jibe!
Man I could go on and on, and on....
But to kinda wrap up, this was just awesome! The trip, the people, just the feel of it all, were almost beyond words! There is something so surreal
about kites in general to me, but to add in a place like Jekyll, people from the Pkf crowd, a few energy drinks.... And it just turns into a dream.
Everything was as it should be... the moments, with my kite to one side, my friends to my other side, and mud in my face, I realized were just
perfection... I couldn't help but smile, I didn't care about the slinging mud, it was a just perfect! Moments like these are forever etched into my
mind... And now sitting on the plane, I can still feel the mud on my legs, the pull of my kite, and the thrill of the downloops... I can still smell
the ocean, the sand, and sadly my fruity sunscreen... When I close my eyes, I'm still there, with my companions, screaming up and down the beach....
Not knowing anything else but this single moment in time....
Man... I'm gonna miss this place and these people... This is the first vacation I've ever been on that it feels like im leaving home, and going
someplace different... Even now I'm homesick for this little island and these moments I can't have right now...
Thanks again to everyone for such a great week, sorry I carried on so long, but this place, this event, just.... Well... Got to me I'm the best
way... And I can't wait till next year!
Good winds my friends, and safe travels home

Thank you Angus for the effort of hosting such a premier event! What a good time shared by all.
Wow, where to start?
What a terrific time with such a stellar crowd of enthusiast with the wind. I had a blast and it was truly the best feeling to finally meet some of
the people you've chatted with for years without ever sharing some face time.
Frank and Chris: I thank you for Kite Fort. I would like to place my reservation for the back room next year to avoid sleepless nights from Larry,
Curly, and Mo. Can we confirm this please
Don and Nathan: you both are the best. Nate a very talented young man with mad water skills and wonderfully supportive father Don. Don, you're my
hero. Seeing you flying up and down the beach were inspirational, I was proud to fly with you. Thank you both for your help.
Team mate Adam and his wonderful bride Joy: I wish for you both to have a long and beautiful life together as one. Joy, you're the best and with a
kook like Adam... you have your hands full girl.
Chad, Danny and Rich (Larry, Curly and Mo): My brothers! "Yeah the breath right strips really work" MY A$$!!:moon: Looking back on spending over
24hours on the road with you was a trip to say the least. Isn't it great to know that you can have that much of a good time and never even turn the
radio on? We needed more GoPros in the truck though
Drew: Thanks for the Brew.
Mougl and Francesca: You guys are great, good to finally meet you and please keep making people smile!
Nathaniel: You have skills man, keep practicing!
Scott and Fran: You both rock! Always an infectious smile and attitude that clearly rubs off on the young ones.
Dean: Great to finally meet the man behind NABX, thank you.
To all others not listed are nowhere near out of the picture, you are all in my mind and heart in remembrance of such a wonderful event such as Jibe.
Now, good and bad news about the video footage. Good news? I have 82.3G of video footage... :wow: that's a record. Bad news: I have a ton of work to
do and videos may come slow but I'll try to pump one out this week.
Peter Lynn and Dino I thank for helping us get the PL tent to the event. I love that tent

Don and Nathan: Thank you so much for taking the time to fix my Ozone and get me in the water safely! I hope to spend some more time in the water with
you both soon!
I hope everyone got to ride (and enjoyed) the Black widow II that wantes to?

Mos Def the best time had with buggy freinds in a very long time/ I dont get to the the beach much so the once or twicw a year I go is very special
and I was not dissapointed.
Angus, thanks again for putting the event together! As usual, this was a highlight of my whole year. It was definately great to see everyone and put
the faces to the PKF names. I tried to visit with everyone but I hate typing so I think I wont list all the names, you know who you are, and if I
didnt say goodbye, it was unfortunate, but the Kite Fort needed to get to the campground Sat night before dark so my appologies.

OK gang, time for me to chime in- had to work all day yesterday (mostly in a crispy daze).
Thanks to everybody for their help. All I did was pick the dates and put up the web site and y'all show up. Biggest pain is schlepping gear but you
all helped so much with that. I never had to make a second trip to the car each night.
The flags were fun but they have seemed to draw the ire of the local Plover Patrol (who knew?). I will work on patching things up even if it means
modifying the shipwreck run.
I've given a big thanks to Rev. Dawn Mayes for the "Blessing of the Fleet", which indeed appears to have helped to bring those spectacular SE winds.
I am working on dates for next year as fast as possible since several have expressed the need to book vacation rentals in advance for next year.
Vacation Rentals are a great cost effective way to go if you have a family or a bunch of buddies (and don't have a kite fort). Depending on your stay
and number in your party they can be cheaper than hotels, and there is the savings of not having to eat out every night. More later in a another
thread.
Chris, the Kite Fort was a hit, and as far as I know, it went well with the JIA. Thanks for putting that together; it added a lot to the event in many
ways. Good cookies, too.
Adam, great support for PL and ATB riders; thanks!
Chris and Franklin, thanks for schlepping so much HQ gear; it added a lot to the event with so much gear to play with.
Reminder to all to e-mail me with any T-shirts you did not get (and size please). Will process asap.
Thanks again everybody!

So, third year, best year. No Bobby, but the rest of y'all made up for that, and meeting the rest of you was first rate for sure.
Loved the kite fort, hope we helped.
I'm not sure how we could have affected the plovers, bet no one asked them, and if they did, they'd probably say,'what flags?'.
A better group of folks we could not wish for, sure feels good to have so many willing and excited people show up to do that which i personally love
the most. Angus may say there's nothing to it, but it's the little things, and they are right there. Water on the beach. The most awesome, right on
time lunch, those amazing flags as a reward for a trip i made as many times as possible, always a smile, helping hand, in spite of the 'artist'
redrawing his shirt. Nah, Angus rocks, there's just no doubt about that.
Thank you everyone, i loved every second of it, oh, and i have someone's shoes! They just happen to be my size, so speak soon or forever see them on
my feet!
Much Aoxomoxoa~!~

Angus, thanks so much for hosting this event yet again. 2 years ago I found you in my time of need and you have been a savior to this former buggier
turned buggier again.
Dean, Nathaniel, Tim, and Ruth, I couldn't ask for a better crew to camp with. You guys made the time off the beach as good as on.
Dean thanks for giving me more tips for speed. Keep 'em coming and I'll try to keep you from passing me.
Andrew, thanks for being such an inspiration. I'll get my daughter in a buggy yet.
Chris and Franklin, I really enjoyed doing dinner with you guys. Come down to our camp site any time.
Chris, thank you so much for hosting the kite fort. It was great to not have to schlep those buggys any further than the parking lot.
Chad thanks for being the greatest kite buggy passenger ever. Let's do it again and next time we'll go even faster.
Peter, I'm so glad you suggested we tow the KAP rig. We should do that again next year when the winds are right. It'll be awesome.
Devan, congrats on making the run to the shipwreck. You did great!
Scott thanks for bringing your family. You have a great crew there.
Andrew, I loved watching you jump. I am impressed how the moves look so good and yet you still keep up with the bugs.
It's so good to see all of you there, to put faces on names and names on screen names. Hope to see you all next year.

Thanks for a great event Angus we really enjoyed the whole Jekyl island experience. My little guy felt good about the compliments he received for his
flying skills. We both were impressed with the turtle center and all that they do. Climbed the trees on Driftwood beach. Caught up with my nephew from
Jacksonville and watched him play soccer at the soccer complex. Found a rope hanging from a tree near the Wanderer exibit , mad fun swinging between
the old dunes in the woods. Spent an evening trying to trap racoons at the camp ground. Ian let get face to face with him , "that was a little out of
my comfort zone dad." Kite buggied with great folks , super cool buggy beach , perfect winds. Thanks again!

I had a truly wonderful time at JIBE. The event was certainly worth the trip. The best part of the event was the people. The kiters are always
great, and the general public was very welcoming. I don’t know what they put in the water, but the children were the most polite that I have ever met.
Jekyll is top kiting venue. The afternoon sea breeze comes on in the early afternoon and last for many hours. The surface is hard and wide and not
too crowded. I am sure that I will be back.
It was also great to meet the local kiters. Don and Chad it was great to talk to you as well as the FL kiters. I also got to see an old non kiting
friend that I had not seen in years.
The Island had a lot to offer and I enjoyed the non kiting activities when the tide was high and when the winds were light. The turtle center tour
was great and the triathlon and turtle release were nice to see.
I owe thanks to many:
Angus for organizing such a great event and for letting me discover Jekyll Island. It was great to meet you.
Rich and the ECKS guys for thinking of me and including me in your carpool; the conversation and company on the long ride was very enjoyable.
Chris for first rate accommodations at the Kite fort, I really owe you one.
Scott I was truly amazed on how quickly and far you have progressed on your board. You were always wearing a giant smile. You have inspired me to put
more effort into boarding and become for proficient.
Adam it is always a pleasure to see someone with your skills fly. It was great to meet Joy; Adam you have a great girl there I think you need to get
her a blokart. Dean Jordan hit me with the heavy sales pitch for NABX and I think it worked; I will try hard to make it out this year. Hope to see
you soon, let me know if you ever make it to New England.
Scott and Fran it’s a pleasure to see the enthusiasm that you have for the sport. You two were the last ones out on Saturday trying to kite when the
winds let up. Scott you are a lucky man to have a GF like her. Fran do you have a sister/cousin/friend that has a similar interest in kiting? If so
Kiteguru is looking.
Peter for the understanding and forgiveness after I kept bumping into your equipment.
Aunt B for her cookies event thought I should stay away.
All the kiters that made the expo a success.

dudes it was a pleasure to meet all of you and ride up and down that beautiful beach last week. this year has definatly been one for the record
books. Watch the peter lynn website the next few days and watch the news page. Some of you will like to see yourselves on there I had a wonderful honeymoon and a great time at JIBE. I felt like the king of the
world when Angus hand delivered me my new team chargers and gear to our townhouse when I first arrived. I'm so proud to be a part of the north
american kite family. You guys make me feel like i'm important and that i matter in this world. Thanks to all for being a part of my life. You guys
freakin rule! Now it would be amazing to get everybody from NABX Wildwood and JIBE all in one place......that would be paradise
