Jekyll is an easy 55-60 min from JAX and is just about all highway, right up I-95 from the airport so it is an easy trip. Car rentals are on sight at
the airport with no rental shuttle bus, so that is fast and easy too.
If you want we can get together at Fins on the Beach (formally named Blackbeard's) that JIBE veterans are familiar with. It has both inside and bar
and deck and overlooks Kite Beach and the Atlantic. Due to the construction of the convention center there is a detour to get there but it is all on
the JIBE site maps and in the downloadable PDF JIBE_Guide.

the extended forecast has Tuesday and Wednesday off shore which will be awesome in your buggys (could be a bit lumpy but you both have depowers to
handle that)..................If it turns onshore I might make Tuesday afternoon....................again this is ikitesurfs long range forecast which
usually changes especially this time of year..........Im willing to bet the winds will be onshore once if not both days
(Tues/Wed)..................................more to come
Angus has real time data on his site........................dont forget to check that out once you arrive.......... app it to your phone! :duh::duh:

There is a very important task to be covered before Wednesday noon, and that is to plant the pennant flags "I made it to the Shipwreck" in the sand
down at the shipwreck on the southern tip of the island. It is not easily reachable by foot without a trek of over 1/3 mile or more, so if winds are
good, it calls for a buggy expeditionary force.
If some of you guys are getting in at 2-3 pm then it may be a stretch after a weary day of travel to assemble buggies and get there and that may push
the patience of your traveling companions. If that is so, and the winds are good still, then I might ask Adam (flyjump) and Ted McKibben (from
Maine, will be there from the weekend), to make the solemn voyage and we can meet you at Fins afterwords.
Lemme know what you think.
Sea breeze has been kicking a$$ against west frontal winds, winning every time in the afternoon. Hope the trend holds!

Looks like we have the JIBE "Pre-event" shaping up here. My week just got longer but for all the right reasons. Just had a huge front move through
with lots 'o rain and storm cells to clear the air. Forecast for early week is for West winds but so far the last week the sea breeze wins every
time. To all arriving early, the store number rings to my cell so check in and we will form up Tuesday for a shipwreck run to plant the flags.
