Tell us how it compares to the charger as you are in a position to have flown both!
Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

I can't say anything about it because I've only seen the proto, so it's not a finished product and things can change. I just wanted to tease everybody

I understand that it is a land specific kite. What would preclude it from use on water? is it difficult to relaunch and susceptible to bowtie like
the PH I. It may be from the angles of the shots but it looks to be lower aspect than the PH I.

yes, looks clearly lower aspect ratio. but look at the profile: it looks quite thin ?

There's no such thing as precluded from water use, now you might not want to crash it or jump with it, but we'll see

.....lucky bugger....all I got is boogie men under mine. They're kept at bay by the killer dust bunnies so there's no threat to me or the wife but it
sure is hard to get a good night's sleep sometimes.
[on topic]
So, am I the only one that might still remain partial to the Phantom I's unless the Phantom II's have equally striking graphic appeal? Silly I
know...."you don't fly the color" but.....

Yes that is it. That is Mark Groshens/ Markite with the horny helmet. That is a 9m Phanny II proto. I had a chance to fly it with several runs
across the lake bed. I like it. With the VPC bridle on it was wicked fast like the Charger and turns like a raped ape, which I normally don't like
BUT, that characteristic enabled me to fly a 9m ARC in low shifty winds that would not otherwise support a 9m twinskin. I would take my eye of the
kite for a nanosecond to find out where Buggytown is and WHOOPS, almost crashed it. But I was able to whip it around the window and really work it.
Mark was almost able to complete a deadman's turn/ 360 in those light winds.
Apparently others complained (commented) about the same thing and the guys at PL have apparently listened and have agreed to ship a version where you
can take the VPC bridle off and put standard pigtails on, loosen the internal straps (yes it has those) and get a stable, slower turning kite with
something closer to classic phantom behavior. Now, I like that. Best of both for all styles and preferences/ conditions. It seems to have a thinner
profile so will be faster in any event, but if it is tamer on plain pigtails, then I am cool with that.
[posted with permission]
I am told that it will not have the original Phantom graphics but will have some playfully sinister kind of motif, in the same vein as the original.
[ I just heard that]
I marched up to Marijn and asked when I could get mine and start selling them. I have heard something like 4th quarter but have to think 1st Qtr 2012
is more plausible [just my take and not official]
