NW Passage Kite ski trip


A two person team are starting a kite ski trip through the frozen North West Passage. The trip 3000km. They plan to finish the trip in 75 days.

That's awesome! My legs are aching just thinking about it. I'm curious to what kind of quivers they bring with them? I can't imagine they would mess around with LEIs in that kind of wilderness. Don't exactly like the thought of polar bears, but I guess you could always jump over them! :bouncy:

75 days? That's like 25 miles a day. Are they expecting a lot of windless days? On a good day here we can do 100 miles no prob. We're not hauling pulks tho.

I know they'll have to haul gear and stuff but 25 miles a day would really start to bore the hell out of me. I'd kill myself if I had to skin for more than a day or two. I guess that's the risk with kite power tho.

I wonder what the surfaces are gonna be like. Late in the season might be fast. faster than a polar bear I hope. I bet they get some wicked winds on some of the wide open water areas.:spin:

No mention of sponsors. Must cost some serious $$$ to pull something like this off.

Looks like ur right PBC.

Read the bios. That guy rode 595km in a 24hr period. That's some awesome mileage.
