JIBE - Update on Foster Wheel Program

If you think you can save money or hassle by shipping your buggy ahead to JIBE, you can ship the buggy ahead to my commercial shipping address WITHOUT wheels (to save on shipping) and adopt a set of spare wheels here for the JIBE event, for 20 % of the cost of the new wheels. The costs work out to ...

standard 4.5" wide wheels $23
Wide Wheels 6.6 " $38.40
Bigfoots $90

You leave the wheels behind and I use them or sell them on the used market to get the cash back

These are standard Plastic hubs from Peter Lynn in either 20mm or 12 mm Axle size. If you have 15mm bearings, demount you tires and bring the hubs with bearings and I will hook you up with tires.

Use FedEx ground over UPS for about 25% savings and just as fast (or faster).

You do not need bigfoots here, really. Even standard narrows are fine but for your bigger frames, the wide wheels will make it easier over the few feet of softer sugar sand between the ramps and the hard-pack (which is like concrete), esp if you are using the buggy as a mule to get from the parking lot and have gear in it. I use wide 16" wheels in my heavy Ivanpah just fine.

Shipping address is

Coastal Wind Sports
589 Palisade Dr. #30
Brunswick GA 31523

912-289-2789 - that's the number of the *shipping store. * You will want to supply that destination number when you ship FedEx Ground (Preferred). Shipping to to a commercial address will save you a few bucks over shipping to my residence.

The address is that of a private retail mailbox and shipping store, "Exit 29 Postal and More". It is about a mile from I-95 Exit 29 and 13 miles from Jekyll. Owner John Williamson will take good care of you and help you get the buggy home.

Hours are..
M-F 8 am - 6 pm
Sat 10 am - 4pm
Sun Closed

I can help coordinate Sunday or after-hours departures (will take it there Monday or next day)

My number at Coastal Wind Sports is 912-265-1149 / 800-592-1195

I can vouch for this. Angus and I rode together in October for 2 days and probably 70 miles if I remember correctly. I might've had a small advantage in the sugar sand but I had the air up for hard tires on the hardpack and that makes even the bigfoots dig into the soft stuff a bit. On the beach, Angus (with his wide tires) would cruise along at the same speed as me. I would not hesitate for a moment to show up there with barrows. You can't even argue that they are nice for the smooth ride because Jekyll is a gently sloped beach that seems not to get the little rivers that dig ditches from tidal pools. Save some bucks and go for the barrows, or wides if you want.

Do you sell the used ones? Wouldn't mind a spare set if I caught some rebar in my field......

Ps... Mark me down for a set of loaners for jibe... The wides, not the bigfoots!
