kami, this trailskate binding where you put your feet is a bit lacking (or honestly: #@%$#!ty), but the overall trailskate is fine. wheels could be a
bit larger and wider. the trailskates really nee smooth terrain like for example a football grass place or hard sand. on a meadow they will work, but
it will be a bumpy ride. those channel truck very flexible deck mountainboards work better in bumpy terrain. the trailskates have no flex at all (even
if they talk about a "composite material with flex" - i cant feel any flex..)
BUT: i really like kite-skating much more than kite-boarding. so yes, i am quite happy with now having those trailskates!! i think its simply a matter
of taste. i never really got the hang to those mountainboards. i feel much safer on the trailskates when under a bit higher forward speed.
@thanson2001ok: correct. but a minimum amount of carve-ability is there (more on soft grounds; on asphalt none). but not much.
not nearly as with normal inline skates. first time i used trialskates i stumbled a few times, because i naturally tried to carve, but the trailskates
did not follow..
I am shy of the trailskate design because of that extra length. Real leg breakers IMHO?
The Coyote is still a very clumsy set-up but I haven't had any issues with them torqueing out and potentially injuring me.
Without a doubt more stable in a straight line so everything has it's trade offs !
I am with you Herc. I have forced myself to learn ATB but when the going gets tough I want to be 2 footed. It is how my deepest memory reflexes are
set.
@Bladerunner: i am also afraid about too much torque to my legs in case of a crash. so i think i will sooner or later mount a ski boots - safety
binding. i have seen that there is a new type of safety binding that is very similiar to those bindings on snowblades (those clamp bindings that are
freely adjustable in boot size - dont know the english word - in german: "bügelbindung")
(these images are from an ebay auction. unfortunately i missed to bid at this auction )
I sprained my ankle last spring and is is pretty much impossible to test the Scorpians here in winter so they sit as new.
I'm packing for NABX. Poor Coolbreeze is getting hit with everybody for truck space. The Scorpians will go in the " you are welcome to leave it behind
bag " that I think I'll try to talk CB into taking? I am not That impressed and not sure I want to waste Playa time testing them for long ?
Herc, Spademan made a similar binding back in the day?
I get 1 shot a year at top speeds. I start thinking about it pre NABX every year. I am pretty certian that if somebody shows up one day with a set of
doomwheels I will take them for a ride ! If I make them it would be like Herc! Boot and binding.
If speed is you goal then the extra weight down low like that can't be bad ? Both the larger footprint + weight are good for speed , bad for jumping.
Can't have it all in 1 . WE know that with our kites.
i hav a pair of coyottes but i don t use theim since i found trailskates faster and more offroad capable ( for skating use with poles )
my poles are to small for the coyottes , maybe the reason for my opinion
now that my trailskate seem to weight 500 g it will be worst
i hav changed the bridles on my nasawing (see drawing)
