It's the same weekend as WSIKF, but this event is in Pacific Beach - north of Ocean Shores and WSIKF is in Long Beach - near the Oregon border.

If the event registration is any indicator, no one is planning to go to Pacific Beach. If any one is planning to go, PLEASE register so others know you'll be there. http://www.napka.org//event_reg.php?Event_id=36

Rip,

Just to clarify, I'll be at Long Beach, not Pacific Beach and I'll be getting there around mid-day on Sunday the 22nd.
the WSIKF ends that day so the beach is quiet and rates are better starting that afternoon.

Do I have the Pacific Beach to myself ? I tried to register but I keep getting fatal errors. That's what Jeff got last time he visited Pacific Beach. Is this a warning?
Just kidding Jeff. If I'm the only one, then maybe the one lone pedestrian won't be bothered by me. I'll see others at Grayland at the end of the month.

She was not a happy camper. It was a bit tough to get in the bug, wasn't till Sunday that I put on my harness and hooked in. The QR system needs a bit of work but:bigok:
Hope to have it more refined by Grayland.
On the way to the beach, my wife said she wanted me to drive home, so I can't get hurt again. Happy wife, happy life:smilegrin:

I must say, I'm starting to become a fan of LONG lines. It is cheaper then buying a 12 or 14 M kite. As Jeff said, we had two 10M Century's. I had the new lighter material 10 on 200 ft lines then Jeff finished up a set of 165 ft. lines and we put them on the lighter material 10 and the long 200 ft on the standard material. Winds were very light, marginal to buggy with standard 30M lines. With my ability anyway. The two kites were very comparable with this configuration. When I was flying them separately the new lighter material was much easier to fly with light winds. Much easier to launch, etc. The standard material needed the extra 35ft of travel space to be comparable to the lighter fabric. I must say, parking a kite that hangs out over the top of the edge of the beach and cruise is really something. You can't get away with this, if the area is not wide like Pacific Beach and Grayland. Having that extra room to move the kite really makes a difference. I see a 10 M PKD century with the new fabric in my future with a set of short 50M lines for the days when the winds are only 2 to 3 mph.
