Mood: Stoked for JIBE!!!

JI wins...flawless victory...
Fatality! Ok so my old MK geekiness is showing lol
Got here a day early for JIBE because I couldn't wait any longer so the usually 8 hr trek only took 6h45m. Awesome time! Folks at the Microtel let me
check in 4 hrs early got a shower and off to JI I went. Winds were 20ish out of the se which is almost dead onshore...ALMOST...
Ok so, too much wind for the apex, reactor, or twister so I reach for ol faithful...the viper (aka the gnat on crack) get the lines sorted because I
somehow fail at packing and launch her. I actually scudded with the viper! Woohoo! Mind you, this is my first time on anything but sugar sand or tall
grass...
Headed south first (upwind) and hit 20mph...wth? Fast UPwind??? Already loving it! Go to jibe and the rear just slides around (omg pls no obe) ok cool
so jibing is scary at high speeds on hard pack but w/e its all good. Head back downwind and its like someone installed a jet pack...
Get a few runs in, take a quick drink break and hop back in the bug :wee:
A few more runs in and headed downwind and I am working the viper like a heavyweight fighter works a sparring partner, look at the gps and I'm over
30mph! Holy cow it felt like 60...in my excitement I lost track of the kite and hear a loud THUD...rut roh raggy...
The 2 center cells are history fatality...
I get back to the hotel, call dino, admit defeat. What does he do? Immeadately calls Angus and explains the dilemma. Needless to say the guys got me
taken care of for the event. Talk about going above and beyond!!! Angus and Dino...you guys ROCK!!!
All in all, awesome day! Got to buggy jekyll solo, new PB (30.7), and found out even more than before that the kiters here don't just share a love for
the sport...its like one hooj extended family!

Already ripping it up on the Island!!! I hear ya man.
Sorry about your kite but sounds like the guys are taking care of ya. Very cool.
I'll work tomorrow, take a nap and hit the road. Guess its my turn to say"are we there yet"
How was the crowds? Plenty of room?
I'm about to have a cow, not having a portable GPS. If I get a run like that and come back saying I went 90mph, nobody will believe me.
Its good to hear you got it going on.

Imagine how homey it felt here in California leaving Angus all my sofka buddies behind to move coast to coast and ending up 45 minutes away from Dino.
It was instant friends, sharing stuff and looking forward to the next outing. Both guys want nothing more than to have happy customers. I'm glad
you got things worked out.

Thanks for the offer mougl, but I don't want to bleed no more of your stuff. ROFL.
I could hang with Phree for one week and get a two year degree!!!! Phree that was well put.
I'm going to bed and try to catch a nap. It probably wont happen, I already been down that beach a thousand times and still out there.
