Mount Washington NH

Multiple days and multiple summits all over the place,...here in the little, but aggressive White Mountains of NH. Snowkiting is FULL ON!!!

Winds and sun has been super nice and sometimes very strong...

SPEED:

Approx: 58 minutes from car to the summit of Mount Washington back to the car....but most importantly...

More than 145 miles logged in in the last week.....

Super fun in the suN!

Wow indeed! Up in Canada some of us joke that in the US you can drive to the top of all the mountains where here at home you have to...you know......hike.

The joke's on us now - I'd LOVE to be able to step outta may car into that ; )

Your looking at about (2569 feet) 2000-3000 feet of elevation gain and about 2 miles to hike/climb where you can to 4721 feet where you can start hiking..

This is neat part....that took me about 35 minutes at a VERY fast pace skinning past everyone on the trail getting the cardio work out for the day with the carrot, snowkiting up high!

If you think that this is PARK AND RIDE snowkiting you have had a horrible joke played on you...

This is kite mountaineering...as in you may climb ice snow rock...(bring crampons, ice axe etc>;)

AT gear is maybe the fastest way up...?

Anyways, come on down from CANADA and I will be happy to get up there wind or not to show you around....

you'll see that your perspective of USA is totally CORRECT EXCEPT hear!

Below is the Starting spot.....at the bottom right of the obvious WHITE LINE below tree line.....then hike up to where the trees stop and go kite....HOWEVER this is only when the wind is from the sw w nw....any other wind and you have to go on the east side.....totally different terrain....much more technical as in your best bet to get above tree line fast is to climb snow and ice up some gullies in Tuckerman's or Huntington's Ravine...

like I said this is not your typical park and ride if you are from wherever....but it is for here in NH!

Au revoir
