California Buggyin'
Well, finally wind and opportunity come together today. I wasted a bunch of time checking on land permission. Have two leads that I couldn't wrap up
today but will dig into next week. 2 fields that must be hundreds of acres each and are very smooth with short grass. Finally I just went to the
soccer park that I've posted about here before not far from my house. The wind was 4-16 and I flew the 5.5 Reactor II. It was fun most of the time
and got hairy every once in awhile when it felt like someone threw a match into the gascan. So I've finally put some miles in here. I needed a
little conditioning to prep for Nabx. Lets hope those big fields work out for next time. They will have very clean wind and wide open spaces to let
'er loose.

Good to hear that you finally got some seat time here in Cali - I'm sure you know that this year has been a fluke and that normally between January
and May is the best time of year - good amount of wind - 3 to 4 out of 7 days. Hope things work out in the 2 fields - you should get a hold of Dino
and Dirk to go check out the sod farm in Lodi, its only about 45 miles from your place - I have to drive about 70 miles to get there, but it is
totally worth it.

I flew with Art Lessing yesterday at the Soaring Society field. It was gusty and a lumpy bumpy ride but good to be back in the saddle. I hope you
find a good field. I still have not found a good replacement in Davis.

Nice get together yesterday at the Lodi sod farm. I got to meet Flexiblade for the first time. He must be the nicest guy. He helped everyone that
needed assistance even when it wasn't convenient for him. He helped both my boys and myself, and everyone else as well. AD72 was there and taking
his maiden flight (I think) with his 9m Phantom. Dagon was there as well flying a Guerrilla. Kite looked like new and flew great too. My visit got
cut short by a call from the wife with dinner plans, but we got a few hours together. The group here keeps growing and the whole bunch is awesome to
be with. The sod farm was as good as ever, with well groomed perfectly smooth grass. Hope we can have many more days like that but maybe a little
more wind. It would drop to 6-7 and pump up to probably 12-14 at times. I ran the 15 Phanny fully powered the whole time. 4 arcs in the sky and
maybe some video, but I'm not sure. Both boys were cruising on their new GI Flight 93 landboards and loved them, and looked great cruising on them.
I didn't get to give Flexi and Dagon a proper goodbye so here is a posted one. Till next time.

Was great hooking up with you finally Bob - will be more to come. The wind was sadly just a teaser - at least it was headed in the right direction -
slow cruising but with a lot of real estate. Here's to a cup full of wind for all! Cheers!

Right after you left I put up the 7.5 Apex, the wind picked up and I got some good solid runs in while Doug and Dagon were breaking down their kit.
That is a great kite.
I should have taken some photos of the 3 phantoms. I would like to try to stack them some time for fun.
Goodtimes.
I had the Phantom out in the morning that day in Davis when it was really gusty and higher windspeeds . I got some good runs in on a soccer field. I
was just not feeling it in the afternoon. Every time I would pull the strap to power up the kite it would stall. It was good getting the expert arc
advise for relaunching and keeping it in the air.

Man, you guys have to let me in on the secret location. My last tiny, flat, abandonded construction area was fenced off. So depressing!
