Stay off the beach in OR today...

http://emergency.nehalembay.org/?p=934

This is an official message from the Nehalem Bay Emergency Volunteer Corps about local conditions that may affect health, safety or life. We are under a Tsunami Advisory (Advisory -> Strong currents likely -> Stay away from the shore)

The beginning of the dangerous period is predicted to start at about 2:20 pm today (February 27) and end several hours later. There may be strong currents, of danger to swimmers, boaters, and beach walkers. Please stay away from the shoreline … do not go to look, as surprising waves or currents may cause unusual and sudden risk of danger.

There is no need to panic or evacuate.

yeah, well... we're expecting an 8ft high tide at that time, so I imagine the water might come up onto the road. If any of you know arch cape, they might have some issues given thei hi-hi tide and the extra water from the tsunami :(

Thing to keep in mind is these are only predictions. Things can and do change.
It's best to play it safe with our very unpredictable surf in the north-west.

If a surge does hit, even a change of 30 cm will cause a lot of damage to the levels
found on the coastal areas of Oregon, Washington, and BC.

Live today.
Buggy tomorrow.

Yeah I've been watching the wind all day... hopefully there'll be something tomorrow. I'll be picking up the pass-the-charger tonight and plan to hit the coast tomorrow :)

I'll second what Jim said. The rain quit about noon, I was in the air by 12:30 didn't stop until 5:30. Best day at sunset for me. We don't have tsunamis in Eastern Wa. So I stayed .8ft above the surf line late afternoon.
