Snowkiting Sunshine Village

I was looking around to see if any resorts offered area to snowkite and couldn't find any listed. I decided to message to closest resort to me and ask if they offered area to do so, here is the messages starting with the one that I sent:

Hi,

I am trying to plan a snowboarding trip for sometime in March and was wondering if the resort has any areas available for snowkiting? I fly my kites on the open prairies of Saskatchewan, and really would like to fly on top of a powder filled mountain. I have tried to find kiting friendly mountains posted and so far suggestions have been to try Banff. I don't want to pack my kiting gear if it won't be allowed to be used. If you can help me out with this matter, or point me in the direction of a snowkiting friendly facility it would be much appreciated.

Thank You
Colton Sauve

What they replied:

Colton:

Unofficially I can say yes :) You'll need to buy a lift ticket which is $80 for an adult, and probably the best place to do it at Sunshine is out of bounds. I would say the Wawa chairlift is your best bet as there is a hike you can do, or if you head up the Strawberry chair and hike out of bounds you'd also have a good place to do it. Check out a place called "Sunshine Meadows". Enormous area.

Another cool place to do this is Spray Lake close to Canmore. It's a huge open area, really pretty and hardly ever crowded. In fact I've never seen it crowded there. Another great place is Lake Minnewanka, which is just outside of Banff.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Spray Lakes will be better.

Off Strawberry is Hooj but back country skiing. NOT something to take on alone or unexperienced. Lots of folks ride at Spray. You won't be alone and won't need back country gear.

I have seen people snowkiting the meadows just outside of Banff by the Highway.
