Well as you can see a little nippy but going to be a hell off a day for sure. Have tried to film in this weather before to no avail, even my still digital lens started giving me error codes lens wouldn't open.lol..
Definitely going need a neoprene face mask and a set of mitts from my old dog sled days made of sheep skin that I put over my Kombi's.
This is going to be a great Scorpion day for sure, later.

Turned out to be a great day, finally warmed up to -14 with 25 km winds and beautiful sunshine. Fresh snow was a plus and nice constant winds made for some nice riding. Legs are sure beat tired tonight, cruised from one end of lake to the other several times waving at the ice fishermen. Not really the best winds for jumping with the Scorpion like little more so I dragged out the Guerilla later in the day.
Never really flown the Guerilla in winds over 20km before so was a new experience. This has to be the one of the sweetest floating kites around, not the greatest forward speed but endless fun. Powered up and even with the slightest swing and a pop of the bar you were off. So much gentler lift compared to the Scorpion with the Guerilla it was almost more of a lofting feeling. Definitely got my share of air on the Big Red Eye, comes down so nicely with very little redirection in these winds. This IMHO is a great large de-power to learn on as it launches nicely, turns pretty nice for a big kite and is forgiving in many ways.

Mood: low winds here I come

Sounds like you had a blast Wolfee  We had similar conditions here in Lloyd, except it only warmed to -20 -35 with chill. Winds peaked at 35km/h. I was out there for two hours and it was a blast. The best kiting time I've had yet. Still haven't figured out how to keep balance while trying to move back the way I came, but that will come with time.
