What board to buy?

Hello, I have just bought a 5,7m Waterfoil and am now looking for a board. I dont know what to buy though, should I go for a typical kiteboard, or a
both directional wakeboard style board like the slingshot"twin dimmi". The advantages of the latter are obvious but are they suitable for a
beginner with a Snowboard background? I dont want to spend money on a board which I will become bored of soon. The wind conditions are 10 - 15kn.
where I live. Also can you use a 2 directional board only on flat water or also in the surf? I appreciate any feedback, Thanks.

personally, i only use bi-directional boards. ive come from years of wakeboarding and have had troubles learning the foot swapping proceedures of the
surf boards (wind surfers are naturals at this). i also prefer the trick capabiltiy (not to mention the visual esthetics) of the symetrical boards. if
you are coming from a snowboarding background, i think it would be a more comfortable switch to kitesurfing on a bi-directional surfboard or a
wakeboard.
the technonlogy for this sport is changing all the time and will continue for a while. there are many people costom shaping new ideas into their
boards, but we'll just have to wait and see what the best approach will be. until then, the best advice is to find something comfortable that
suits your style for now. you will most likely upgrade again in the future.
im riding a connely slayer with costom fin sets and doing just fine.
