Female Dry Lake Bed Users

Ok Guys, I am after some info, we all know the fastest buggier on the Planet is Arjen done at the NABX this year 2009....dry lake beds are one thing, speed on the beach is a whole different ball game.

Last weekend a friend of mine Matt aka windjammer achieved 68.1mph on the beach

What I want to know, and preferably with some kind of photo back up of a GPS or speedo who is the fastest female on a dry lake bed, at the moment I have no female dry lake bed speeds.

The record list is here Top Speeds

Soooo with your help we can find out the fastest female on a dry lake bed....and at the moment it doesn't have to be quick .

Also, if you are not on the list yet male or female....why not? lol its only a bit of fun, and good to see your name up there.

any help or PBs to go on the list email me HERE

Permit - check
Hooj B@lls - checking :shocked2::duh:

I have my permit in hand already and it's good for one year. I'll admit I'm a little intimidated by just driving into hallowed ground like that. I hope I can get some local interest for someone to join me to calm my nerves and for safety reasons. I won't light the fuse if the winds are nukin. Well maybe not. It would be hard to be right there and not go for that burning rubber smell. "Ahh, nothing like the smell of burning buggy tires in the morning."

Give me a yell when you get here Bob, I am sure we can round up some riders to head out there with you. Also, the permit is good for one year from Oct. - Sept. if you didn't get a new permit within the last month or so, you are expired....which is no problem cuz we will be more than happy to head out there with you and you can ride under one of our permits (if needed).

Bring all your kites cuz you never know what the wind will be blowing. Generally the winter months are the worst winds....but you may get lucky and get blown off the lake bed.

Kent, by worst winds do you mean 40 gusting to 55 or the 0-8 that I'm so used to?

I just got the permit a few weeks ago and its good till September. When I started to envision this stopover as a possibility, I asked Dean if I needed anything and he steered me to the right place. Very nice staff there too. I'd be thrilled to have some company along with local advice. I'll be quivered from 2m - 19m so hopefully that will let me roll.

I think that Solaris and Airin will be going to NABX this year. I wish Archkiter could make it. She has potentially got a top speed already ?

Maybe we should set up all girls with a GPS and have them duke it out for the record ? :ninja:

I'll be there GPS equipped but the only record I'm going likely to be setting is the consistently bringing-up-the-rear record.

B-Bob:
Worst winds meaning that there are usually more days with light winds than strong. Our best winds are generally in the spring time. Lately we have been pretty lucky with some great winds but there are days when the winds will be light (0-10 mph).

Hope that helps.

Just thought i'd mention that we made a trophy out of the worlds fastest buggy bolts.

They were donated by Vleiger Op and Susan Skinner. They look really good mounted as part of the trophy.

That Trophy will go to anyone who can beat Fast Arie's record!

Otherwise we keep it till someone does!

with all this constant talk of skirt wearing ( latent tendencies? I'm just saying..) and fastest woman on the dry lake. Maybe one of the new events could be a drag race -emphasis on "drag". pimp your ride and drag racing, who knows where this is going.
