We're coming as fast as we can!

So....we might have to wait until the 29th to leave Edmonton which means (in the interests of preserving my marriage) the soonest we'd step onto the dry lake is the evening of the 31st. I'd hate to say the 1st 'cuz you'd probably all hide on me and make me think I was at the wrong place (April Fool's!).

Is there a "You have to do dishes" penalty for missing the first couple days? Do you use up all the wind in the first couple days? I REALLY want to experience the whole thing start to finish but we fall into some stupid loopholes with the RV rental - we can get unlt'd mileage if we leave on the 29th, if we leave on the 26th we only get 100km PER DAY!

Who would rent an RV to drive 100km a day?

Anyway.....how hard should we fight to get out of the loophole? You'd think if we told them it was the deal breaker they'd let it slide.......What would/will we miss out on if we can't get there until two days in?

RV Rental: http://www.cruiseamerica.com/

on the first day you'll be wearing a skirt, and by mid week maybe pants. Ask Dino. hehehe :spin:

last year we showed up on the first day, its still a small group of riders, with a lot more blokarts there. so really missing the first 2 days is okay in my books. however I'm doing 10 days this year with De Dutch Riders, plus 1 week in Las Vegas (vacation).

see ya on the playa, and it starts now "eat my dust". :wee:

Folks who arrive early usually visit the other lakes as part of the Pre-event. The 1st couple of days are a bit of a transition from the Blokarts to buggies etc.. Getting there a day or 2 late isn't a big problem. You won't be getting told to do anything but have a good time ! If you and the Fam' can do that . YOUR IN ! :wee:

So MacBoy, Old Boy. Is this going to be the 1st year for the Canadian Coyote Races ? :bigok:

Coyotes are already in the bag ; )

I'm sure I can let you win a couple.......at some point we'll have to just do a formation flyby for the video camera though so I'll slow down for you for that shot

Should I be registering the better half as a guest for the event (I assume so, so that she's privy to the grub and whatnots)? I'm registered - I can add her anytime.

Oh, and what about the insurance field? It's not a mandatory field but is it something I should do/get (and if so, where/how)?

Ewwww My poor Coyote tail is between my legs.

Just start getting used to going fast on skis. Last year I went from 3 days in 2 weekends on snow at Greenlake straight to Ivanpah and it was so cool / warm. Both dry lakes of sorts and the coyotes really do run like skis.

It would be proper for the wife to register as a guest if she will be eating + attending the parties. IMHO

I count on my medical that comes with my ( special ) visa card to be my insurance ? You really MUST have medical insurance to go to the states anytime , again IMHO. Canadas plan doesn't cover much when down there.
