This is Barton cliff top where the winds come off the see about 100 feet above sea level, always constant but if the winds are going out to see we dont fly here for fear of being dragged off of the cliff

This is the dreaded field high up a few miles from the sea front, surrounded by big trees and houses the wind is always dirty and gusty, a horrible place to jump.

This is Theddlethorpe Beach, Lincolnshire, UK. The whole beach is hard packed flat sand and has to be at least 400m wide, its mostly deserted. Experience all types of wind anything westerly is lumpy anything easterly is clean. My kiting heaven.

The beach to the left of the river mouth for the water ...

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=35.210537,136.129618&...
for the landboarding ...

I live near the 'Shinohara' word, about 15km SE from the surfing beach ;)

And where I grew up - lived near the words 'Queenspark Drive' till I was 25-ish - and where I had my first ride on a kite & landboard ...
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=-43.489047,172.71409&...

... I have dreams about that beach  I think Southshore Beach is where the instructional part of the PL DVD is filmed ...

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

This really is as great as it looks. It is a polo practice field that we have gained permission to ride on. They keep the grass mowed short and it is relatively smooth riding in the buggy. Wind direction doesn't matter at all. Just head out whatever direction works for you.

Hi

I live on this lil island of the NW coast of Scotland UK

Its Kite wonderland. Consistent, clean strong wind all year round, and because its an island you can find a location in any wind direction.

All the locations are beautiful and I have them to myself most days :)

same as kandrey89 : San Fran's Ocean Beach

We're dead in the water right now though. March through September there's a pretty reliable west wind between 6 and 20 mph

where I fly now: (blue area is really all that is flyable)

Where I have been given access but not made it out there yet. hope to make it there soon... This place is actually used as a corn maze in the fall and all the green to the south of the maze is accessible, I'm pretty sure.

the snipping tool in windows 7 made that easy. :wee:

Mood: stuck on a small island with big trees and tiny beaches...

[*] posted on 1-3-2010 at 09:39 PM

man... those are some sweet spots...

here's my local, only good when the wind is mostly east, the big beach north of the river is 50m at high tide and 100 + at low. I keep my kites near the white building. 5 mins bike from my flat. I usually have a few buddies hanging out by the bridge, there's a shop there with cheap beer, 30 cents USD a can I believe, they love to watch but rarely fly, I don't teach folks past two beers. beautiful soft sand, perfect for static jumping, look out for the trees!

I have other spots for water (shui hau wan mostly) and my hardpack is on the other side of HK (sai wan / dai long wan in sai kung)

for really good beaches like some of yours (grrrrrr) I will have to travel, the phils, thailand, and vietnam are all a couple hours or less by plane. Lots of big beaches in China but they are dirty...

mui wo.jpg - 56kB

fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....

sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...

also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.
