Kitewiese.de - find your kitearea

Hi,
i am a kiter from germany - and i have created a website in my leisure time: Kitewiese.de - a website-community for kiters - from a kiter.
The main feature: You can draw your kiteare into a (google-) map. Draw means "draw" and not only "click and set a point". Then you can upload images and write some infos for this kitespot. Besides, you can post messages, "claim" your kitespots, find other kiters and much more. Don't forget: It's a one-man-project, but i think it is worth to take a look on it. The main language of this webpage is german, but of course it's also available in english (and danish . The english translation is not perfect and it is not finished: Perhaps you want to help me? Apropos english: mMy english reading is really good, but i know that my writing isn't..., so i hope you can understand what i write here.
I would be glad to receive feedback - positive or negative.

Greetings from Germany
Joern

Great Idea. HQ's Powerkites.de has the "spot locator" but I cannot figure out how to add a spot.

On your site I cannot get the English version to appear. But I'd sure like to check it out more!

Hi angus,
To get the english version, you must click on the english flag in the top right corner - and your Browser must accept cookies.

BTW: I think my website ist much better than the spotlocator of HQ! :)

It's very difficult to translate the homepage, because most of the content of this page is dynamic.
But the rest of the website should be completely translated - one day. I work on it.

What do you mean "how do you 'own a spot'
You 'own' a kitespot when you claim it.

Small, fast improvement: Add 'USA' as Country for kitespots (USA is also available as country for your userdata)

Nice work, but you really need some weather data...

Thanks!

There is weather data - but until now i have only implemented it for germany. (you can see the wind conditions and the temperature)

Perhaps i work on it this weekend so that it works for other countries, too.

It already is pretty sweet, but weather info would be awesome! Kudos on the cool site:thumbup:
