Any but the Hydra and 3m Beamer for those winds. Venom 19 on the high end for land and 11-12 mph but doable if careful. There will be many kites to
fly, no worries. HQ will be in town and I have stuff. You will cruise; no worries. NOAA continues to call for SE. Awesome.
Bring whatever you can. Big kites will rule but the direction is right for de-power park-and-rides.

Yo Angus, will the Turtle Crawl & Nest Fest or whatever be on the same stretch as where we are? Looks like it could bring alot of people onto the

KnocS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-em down like bowling pins...
Actually we have a problem only for Saturday. All the events are in the PM except for the triathalon Saturday afternoon that runs right through Kite
Beach, so we may have to relocate Saturday to just south of the convention center. Last year they told me no conflicts but somebody apparently forgot
something....
... we will work it out

we can wait em out as they run through??? I like the bowling pin idea...
They'll just have to watch out for us. Consider us like a hazard on a golf course or an obstacle that makes the run more like an iron man
competition...

Turns out Race is in the morning so no worries there. In the afternoon though there will be kids activities south of the convention center so we will
have to look out. There will be a sea turtle release at 4:00pm on Saturday which might be cool to see. there will be snow fencing set up on the
beach for it so watch out and stay north.

Where might one find a high quality source of adult beverages in the Brunswick area? I'm thinking along the lines of yeast, barley, hops, etc.
Undistilled and carry out to be precise.
Florida can be somewhat lacking in this arena and I always like to see what others have access to when I travel.

Yes, important question!!
Jekyll Island is state park so only beer is at the liquor store in the shopping center when you come on the island. Expensive.
Exit 29 in I-95, before you go east/ north on 17/ 25 to Jekyll, go West/ South 1/2 mile to Harvey's Supermarket for any necessary provisions.
For true liquor store mainland, go west from Exit 29 1/4 mile, turn left at the Goasis gas stop, immediate right, then immediate left after Super 8
motel and M&B Liquor is just ahead 1/4 mile on right

A few times a year we get 25-30+. You've been to OOBE Field and can attest to the flaky wind so I think I might get to use it a few times anyway.
Also, I wanted a small depower to teach my kids depower on low wind days. My daughter wants to learn to ATB, she only weighs about 110lbs so it might
work good for her.

Jibe started off with a low level fly-by of a C-130 right off the beach. Wish I could say I arranged it.
Great winds today mostly on shore, some a bit south. When riders tell me about the shipwreck (way south end of island 3 miles away) then I know they
had a good ride. Great turn up today and a lot more arrive tomorrow. Winds supposed to be 10 - 15 kts southeast. That's nearly on-shore.
Eric Miles doing lots of 360 spins in the bug and lots of 2-wheel action - great free-style
Craig Young of HQ cruising with NEO 11 and Montana 5 12.5m. Showed us the new Scout II kite with clean bar and ingenious cross-over bridle.
Mougl putting a lot of miles on the Apex 10 and lending me a great hand with looking after JIBE. thanks!.
Lot more to tell.
Beach gets bigger every day with a spring tide. Those arriving tomorrow in for a real treat!!!

Thursday, May 13
Epic day on J.I. Onshore winds started out light and continued to build throughout the day. Kept everyone on the beach flying until the late afternoon
tide finally ran us off.
Everyone on every type and size kite making the 3 mile run to the south end and back. Beach was WIDE OPEN! Park and ride was the order of the
afternoon. There were a LOT of kites in the air including a number of large Peter Lynns.
Didn't have quite enough wind for those desiring a water ride but no one was complaining. (It's a buggy Expo after all) Angus did a heckuva job
aligning the wind, tide, and crowds. Today was the day!

Glad to hear the day finished strong after a rather dubious start. Hated to leave even after staying past my "must depart by time"
because..................................
it was hard to walk away from a landboard session with Chad's 15m Charger. Thanks Chad!!! Mougl (the "g" is silent, don't ask) wasn't the only one
with some "firsts" today. I down looped the Charger with ease. The turning speed is everything it is claimed to be. The low end capability is there
also. Might be some Arcs for sale soon.
Great time seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Angus did a superb job once again putting all this together. The island was abuzz with activity
today but kite beach was kept clear for our enjoyment. He obviously has friends in high places. Many thanks, Angus!!!!
Thanks also to all who were there and were willing to share their knowledge and gear. Came home with a lot of good advice and quite a few board and
buggy hours under my harness. Outstanding event!
