I'm intend to try to be there noonish, as long as my car can holds up. I guess I'll start down somewhere around the Crest, where the Bash usually is. If you don't see me, look for the tow truck on the way back home! :ninja:

Just gotta know the conditions for this weekend - not the crazy gusts we had last time down there.
I see rain forecast later this week:
Damp hard-packed: good....deep puddles: bad!

The north end(s) Ragden used do seem to give a few more wind-direction options,
tho they don't look as long and as wide open as the Crest area.

I was just talking to Cheezy right now, NW winds around 3pm doesn't look good. There will be no hard packed left by then...

Long Beach is only good on SSW/S/SSE winds and only during low tide. Anything else is a bust.
Conditions don't look favorable for any day this weekend.

This Saturday, looks great for Wildwood: NW wind and clear sky. Low tide is at 3:39 pm, so the beach would be really good from around 1:00 pm until dark.

I may see if I can make it. Leaving town on sunday so may be a little busy getting stuff ready.
What is the beast season for onshore winds at Wildwood(SE)?

There is no "best season". You have to catch it when it happens. Spring/Fall are normally good times, but over the years, I have never really noticed any particular time when it happens more often than not... Just watch for it, and go when it happens...

So... West winds are still very rideable. Gusty, sure, but still rideable.
If I were in the area, I would consider going... Heading up north for a snowboarding vacation for a week.

Hope you guys are able to make something of the changing conditions.

I just checked Wunderground.com and from 1pm on Saturday they are showing WNW winds. We'll know better tomorrow, or even Saturday morning.
I looked at the WW beach in google maps and it's oriented almost perfectly SW to NE.

Anything with west winds is "rideable". It will be a little bit lumpy, but rideable. I've ridden there when winds have been due north, and due south. Not always the best runs, but still rideable. Be wary of the "speed corridor". When winds are out of the west, the section of beach just north of the pier, up to where the convention center is can be super crazy strong. I have had some amazing speed runs across that section of beach in off-shore winds. Just... be prepared for someone to turn on your afterburners...
