There are a few wives there but not many. I don't think I'll ever get mine on the playa! I'm eying a long weekend there in mid November, but nothing firm yet. The wife will be back east for work/visit. It will just be me with the boys and anyone else that wants to join in. Heaven knows there's room for everyone. I'd like to try a Sprint just so I know how they do.

for sure give me jingle :singing:
in the mean time...did you manage to find a decent spot to buggy/board (my definition of decent is not the same as other's). a good sized school/football field not completely surrounded by huge evergreens.

We'll be there Paul! Don't you worry! Kathy knows how much I'd like to go again and has always granted me soft-permission...might just have to be a weekend trip for me but rest assured - I'm there. Flights to Vegas typically run out Thurs - back Sun so it's about perfect.

NEWS FLASH.....

There is talk in my house of NABX 2011....this is a huge step forward in this household (no seriously believe me...this is a HUGE step forward)....for many years I have had "we are not spending all that money doing that" and "its all about you", "you would not spend a week shopping with me" etc etc, it did not help when she spent 3 days in the Dubai desert when I went buggying with the Sand Yeti....anyway I have had to make huge compromises along the way....for instance

The wife definitely will not stay at home if I am anywhere near Vegas again, and she is sooooo not into kiting, so this is what I have had to do to even get a dialog going with some hope. (I am making her sound like some kind of ogre, but she is lovely really and my sole mate)

She will not stay on the lake bed for any longer than 4 days.....so I am thinking get there Wednesday, get checked in at the Primm Valley Resort, she didn't like the look of Buffalo Bills....I dare not argue lol, have Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the Playa.....then this is the biggest part of the compromise, she said, if she has to spend 4 days on the Playa, we must spend the next 3 days in the Bellagio...lol...personally I can live with that.

Thanks so far for the emails from Kent and Ricardo with all the help and info you have given me so far....nothing is booked yet, but it is looking VERY VERY GOOD, I have already had 2 sleepless nights just thinking about it, to say I am excited is an understatement

Ahh, the prospect of actual original photos of you and your buggy on Ivanpah Dry Lake. I understand your plight Popeye, my wife seems to loathe everything about kites. I only recently got approval for a weekend camping trip to the coast at a location where we can buggy.

I know I'm not the only one hopeful this becomes a reality for you and the rest of us that would love to have a few days to buggy with you at Ivanpah.

PTW
coooooool.....
your's sounds like my wife. "Zero" interest in anything other than shopping and stamping(making cards) but she'll go anywhere as longs as a "shopping" spot is near enough.
she does sign checks for a lot of gear with no hassle though:wink2:
how r you going to pack/ship gear and how many buggies r you (planning) to bring?

I was not planning on taking any buggies, Kent has kindly offered me the use of a buggy, I dont know yet, I will make inquiries about the costs of shipping a buggy over there, it certainly wont be the Dom 4 as it does not break down small enough...early days yet

popeye... i love that you said news flash.... :) You have to bring at least one or two, or fifty of your buggies! Even if you ship them to Denver and I shove them in the trailer. I plan on holding them for ransom at the HQ camp, I can be bought off with beer, buggies, or place-holding in the food line.

NICE! Welcome aboard. Consider yourself signed up for a ride in the Ivanpah. Mine is the stretch version so if you're not a tall fellow, you'll have to scooch down in the seat a little.
