Kite landboarding spots on Long Island

I live on Long Island and have not really found a good spot to kite landboard here yet. I have gone in other locations before, and in the winters I ride in the parking lots at the beaches. Does anyone know of any good beaches with good packed sand that would be good for kite landboarding on the Island?

Good luck! I lived in NYC the last two years and scoured the area for landboarding... the best i found was liberty park in new jersey. The beaches in long island are no good for landboarding apart from on the one in a magical time when the winds on shore and the tide is lower than it's ever been before... if you do find any open fields or anything please do let me know!!

My advice is to kitesurf :)

Last week I rode a few times at Cedar Beach (the one on the south shore). It has hard packed sand over a larger area than most beaches on LI, not a real large area, but it may be worth checking out if you are in the area. The nice thing is that the packed sand area is not near the water so the tide doesn't matter.

I know of some open fields in the area, but I have never tried to ride in a field. Kitesurfing is out of my price range at the moment.
