We can not and would not do it, if it were not for you, you really keep us coming back for more, and we do love it, even if it keeps us up late trying to figure things out, and how to make ends meet, and how to get stuff out, and how to make it work, we do, and we thank you!

and of course, this years event is dedicated to my Dad, Birkett Fry Jordan lll, who died shortly before the event, making it super tough to leave my family, but they blessed me to go, and love to them as well.

Then it So happed to be the buggy that broke the record! I got pics of it signed by everyone who set a personal best in it. How sweet is that?;-)

Hey Sailors,
Great to see everyone.
Great winds and great friends.
Just what a body needed.

By the way... next year is NOT the 20th anniversary.
(Don't rush me down the oldtimers road.)
The first buggy event (ever) was the original Buggy Boogie Thang in January 1994.
That event introduced Fran to the desert dry lakes and Ivanpah in particular.
That March, with his son Fritz going to school at UC Berkeley, the Spring Break Buggy Blast was born.
Only Fritz and Fran were in attendance.
The next year, in 1995, others also attended.
And so it has grown.
Now becoming the North American Buggy eXpo.

That means we just celebrated Sweet 16.
Our next anniversary is the 17th one.

What are you going to get me?
I think 17 is wood but any leafy green plant (hint) will do.

What a nabx to remember!!

He was screamin all right. I knew from previous runs with others using phantoms that mid 50's wasn't a problem, but I didn't think they would go as fast as AJ was going. I'll let him ring in with the reading.

Impressive indeed.

It was a screaming run but felt comfortable in the Apexx. Not even scared at all which scared me more. I made 6 runs that afternoon with the slowest coming in at 58 mph. It was like hunting wind and the correct texture of the playa to achieve the speed of 67.8 mph with the 6m phantom on 27m lines on a 40 cm bar! If i had more time on the playa that day i am sure i could of squeezed more out the phantom. The day before i hit a speed of 59.8 in the PL xr buggy! Now that was a screaming run! But using the apexx was dream with the twin skins and yall thur up some impressive # with the other Pl kites! I did try out the PL Charger in the Pl xr, when it locked in it was like a slingshot! I felt like i went from 20mph to 50mph with one stroke of the kite. I wish i would of tried it out in the apexx but i didn't:dunno:I use the same 6m phantom on the water 4-5 session a yr when the wind exceed 30+. Whoa......................What....................A............RIDE! If anyone has pic or vid of the run or GPS can you please send me a copy! Thanks! ........................aj

AJ pretty much proves the exception to the rules for sure. He's fast, rides weird kites, never takes a break from the wind, eats, drinks and dreams kites, aaaaaand is one hella nice guy!

I think i'll have to go to Galveston this year just to get some free riding in w him!
