so I decided to post a picture of the field I've started riding at.

works very well for SE winds. the picture was taken looking south so you can see that there is a nice clean SE wind that comes right up the bluff and into the field.

I think there would be plenty of room for a dozen kiters or so. any more then that and it would definitely start to get crowded.

I should also make a note that is about a 180degree panoramic photo so the houses on the left are actually perpendicular to the water. not parallel to it.

as a result the photo makes the field look smaller then it really is.

Yes, I thought that place looked good when doing the tourist thing at SOBB.

A field like that up here would be too soggy to ride all year ?

I suppose that with less rain and the sandy soil You can ride there all year ? Can You ?

I did some static flying there yesterday. didn't have the mountainboard with me but it definitely would have been rideable. the ground is wet but hard...

the best way I can explain it is if you fell and slid you would get brown streaks on your clothes but I think it drains well enough that you would never have to worry about puddles or soggy ground.

I'm pretty shocked how firm it feels considering this is right after all the snow melted.

if this is as wet as it gets and you use the west side of the island for summer winds then I would say yes, yes you can ride here all year.

well during the summer its always coming from the west which really isn't any good for this field but there is a smaller field at sea-level on the west side of the park.

I'd estimate summer winds to be 0-15mph N, NW

and the storms usually end up being S, SE 15-30mph

it has a clear view of puget sound so theoretically it should have essentially the same conditions maybe minus a few mph since the wind is coming over land.
