You an fly a kite in les Plaines d'Abraham as long as you dont get moving. It's too crowded anyway.

Be ware, there is a Police station just in front. Winds are gusty there

Can try the soccer fields at University Laval, N and NW winds are good.

You can also try "Champ des soeurs" in Charlesbourg just next to Quebec City.

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&saddr=Rue+Du+Vignoble,+Ch...

Park on rue des vignobles. And the field is public. I know many kiters go there in winter. I suppose there are some too in summer.

Thanks Buzz Buddy !

This is only my 2nd time to Quebec city and I only have 2 days so I expect to mostly do the tourist thing there. It is in La chute that I may have some time. Do you know of any good spots around there ?

P.S. Baluk wants info on paraski Quebec !

Ken

too bad you are not coming to Montreal, you could have had a blast on the SA2 15m.

I did a search for Lachute but nothing come out on Kitezone.ca

I can post the question, but doubt to get responses. Smaller places like that, guys usually keep their spots secret.

Baluk

go there: http://paraskiflex.ca/
click enter for the english version

Personally, i dont like their product, I am not saying it's not good, it's just a personal choice. Takes too much wind to get going. But on the other hand, quite stable and friendly for beginners.

I expect I'll just end up teaching some family to fly in a field around La chute.

I confused things saying "Paraski" was what Baluk was after. I meant He was coming up to Kite ski . I was told that they call it that in Quebec ? Non ?

I'm actually flying in and out of Montreal but want to get to Quebec City for the 400th Celebrations! :singing:

Next time out will be Montreal

Got It ! :duh:

It's amazing how little companies like Conceptair and Paraskiflex can make a living just on the Loyal following of Quebecois

I'm proud of Quebec in many ways but that extends in to the kite world. They are so far ahead of us in the rest of North America.

Now, if they could get their planes to fly on time ! ;-)
We may get in too late to pick up the car tonight

Another business started in Quebec is kitefix.com

I went riding with one of the owner earlier this summer, and he was telling me he had to quit his computer jobs because kitefix.com was demanding them too much work now. They distribute their glue all over the world.

In BC, Ocean Rodeo is doing well too

On a paraskiflex note. They have new sails for 2008. The original F-Series paraskiflex is said to have a 2 to 1 ratio. The R-Force series is 3 to 1 and the L/X Series a 4 to 1 ratio.

That might change the issue for amount of wind needed.

Buzz, you had one for sale a while ago. Do you still have it for sale?

I saw a Surf jet for sale in montreal and thought of you.

Here is a little vid of the surfjet in action.

I rode a surf jet years ago out here on the bald prairie.

Bombardier was a part of the history of this gizmo...

Sorry to take this thread on a curveball...

Right up there with the motorized buggy...
