PIC OF MY FLYING SPOT!!!!

This is my flying spot that i have mentioned in the past.. Civil War Fort Called "Fort Taber" as you can see the the fort is surrounded by water....and at 15ft drop off . nothing to guard you from falling over LOL Just wish it was longer East to West. wind in the summer is mostly coming from the south so I don't get huge speed before turning back. for now it's k :singing: Our High Schools have closed the feilds to the public, so this is all i got right now.

A pretty cool place to fly, but I need to keep my eyes open for rangers...I'm expecting to be told to pack up, but so far so good.

I'm lucky; on my beach I get to chase the Georgia Highway Patrol and buzz their 4x4 truck. Same with the fire/ rescue unit. they get a kick out of it.

Consider a trip in Late September the weekend of 26th through 28th for the First Annual Jekyll Island Buggy Expo (JIBE). Details to follow. It will benefit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center (on the island) and will include a private tour (in the morning at high tide). It will be a pretty loosley structured rally type of fun-fly event. Low tide is in the after noons then so if the sea breeze is still on (should be) then we should have some good 4-mile runs in late afternoon.

Count Wexler and me in as well. Jekyll is buggy paradise with the hard sands and onshore winds in the afternoons. Temps should be a little more reasonable by that late in the month too. I feel a race brewing somehow. I already crave the pics of multiple kites in formation coming down the beach.

Yeah, I'm thinking it would be a good photo op from the back of the Georgia Highway Patrol truck if I could get them to agree to a "Chase the Highway Patrol" event. They are good sports and usually get a kick out of me buzzing their truck in the buggy.

I might have to make a trip out there this summer. The company I work for is going through the process of outsourcing their IT department. If I'm retained, that might be a good gift to myself...Always wanted to check out the Southeast.

I can bring some kites, but does anyone have a buggy I can borrow or rent?

OH, and BTW, nice flying areas DG and Barnes. I should send you a pic of my local area...then you'd really appreciate your local spots :wink2:

I've got a Flexi wide-axle and PL Comp XR+ and either are available to any qualified visitors. I can only use one at a time (unless I'm running tandem!).

Valley Forge is the story of the six month encampment of the Continental Army of the newly formed United States of America under the command of General George Washington, a few miles from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Though no battle was fought here from December 19, 1777 to June 19, 1778, a struggle against the elements and low morale was overcome on this sacred ground.

Copy and pasted this. hope this answers your question
