Don't get me wrong - it's cool and all but.....why? Safety first sure, carry the spare but if you're gonna commit, commit. I say no way it's possible
hence having to ditch. But what do I know.
(I know I'll never jump out of a balloon with a traction kite......a regular parachute, sure. But not a traction kite.)

Nah, I've got a vid of some spanish looking dude flying what looks like an old 3m kite off just the bridal, had it hooked up like a parachute. Out of
the plane pop the kite and rode it all the way onto the ground, he did land at an amazing forward speed, big dive, leveled out and into the never
ending scud.
Basically a publicity stunt.
