Kiteski trip Boston to Denver- help plan a dream trip

I'm going to Colorado for a few weeks Jan 4 to the 20th or so. When I return is flexible. I'll be mostly on Route 80 past Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, Des Moines and Omaha.

In Colorado I plan to ski my head off with family 6th to 13th. Once they leave I plan to kite Dillon Reservoir and Rabbit Ears pass.

Any good kiting on the way home? Looking for places that may have people at them to increase safety, especially if it's on ice.

All suggestions are welcome. I'll have skis, skates, kites and kitewings.

I love Nahant but rarely get there anymore.
Skis, skates, coyotes, buggy, Beamer 1.8, Apex 3III,'Flow 3 & 5, Peak1 6 & 9, Venom1 10 & 12. Wings Wings Wings.

Minnesota seems like it might not be too far out of your way. Apparently it is pretty big there. They do have 10,000 lakes, probably most will be frozen by the time you go. Might be worth looking into.
