| pre/post Wildwood Bader field

I was just talking with Rich regarding access to the Bader field airport in Atlantic city NJ. For those coming from the northeast going to Wildwood
it's right on the way so I was intending on stopping there either on the way down or the way back from WW. Rich said they charge $300 a day to rent
the airfield. If 5 or 10 people were interested it would make it very affordable. So I thought I'd put up a post to see if there was any interest.
Cheezy, Dan, Doublespeed360, Mainekite?? Anyone intersted?
For those unfamiliar with the airport here is a video of some of the blokart guys enjoying the runways.

Definitely looking forward to riding with you again Cheezy
Google says its 1hr 19 min north of wildwood flyguy. Hope you can join us
Personally I think airport runways are the most fun of any surface and after seeing the blokart video the condition of the tarmac seems pretty good.
I really liked Floyd Bennit field in NY also but the tarmac had degraded badly there and the forest had become overgrown creating a lot of
turbulence,,,, not an issue with Bader as it abuts the water. Hopefully more will chime in so we can set some dates!:wee: |

Sounds like fun. I have a guest coming with me for a couple of days this trip - my brother - so final plans are still coming together.
I might be able to make it on Tuesday or Wednesday (the 11th or 12th) :wee: but Sunday after WBB (the 16th) is my drive-home day .
If it becomes a deal-breaker, I'm happy to pitch in to help make it happen.
Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

Back in my early flying days, I worked for a charter company that did flights from CT, MA, and Long Island, NY to Bader Field for casino visitors.
That was just prior to the airport closing. It was a good airport to fly into. The runways are nice and straight... |

I'd be in if it were pre WBB or even Sunday. Prefer pre like Tuesday or Wednesday. Lots of details to work out on my end to make this doable so the
sooner the better so I can get paperwork started :D

Wow, I just got in the door and went to check on this and I have to say I'm really surprised at the interest! When I looked at the 'todays posts'
this morning and only saw 4 or 5 posts on the site I thought I'd only be hearing crickets for a response . Perhaps we should pick a day that works best for all. If anyone knows how to put up one of those voting poll
thingy's on here perhaps that would help. If not just list what day works best. I can do early week for a pre ww or post ww anytime. My only
schedule these days is for naps |

Spoke with Dan a little bit ago, I'm sure he'd be in if we can get things worked out. I'm sure a few of the up north gang would be in as well.
I will put something up on the FB page to beer people over here to check out the thread.

bugymangp.... maybe Rich could chime in on that but I'm guessing we'll just have to pick a date and hope for the best.
Thanks Weldngod, hopefully you'll be at Wildwood though. I need your professional opinion on a few things |

| A friend metioned this and thought I should pass it on...

 From Dave M....
If people plan on heading up there you should definitely check with Fran Gramkowski first. I believe there has been a recent change of ownership.
IN the past, the city required a permit AND $300.00 per day to use the facility. Not sure what the Rules are now, but I believe Fran would know. I
do know that we have changed our event back to Wildwood this year because of the unavailability of the airport.
