Flysurfer Speed 5 12m

thinner profile, leading edge stiffening rods, thin bridles, no hard/soft line, sturdy bag, better wing-tip inflation, better gust handling, nice turning speed. its like the perfect blend between the sonic and the speeds of years past... faster than the speed but more forgiving than the sonic. they really did take the best aspects and merge them into 1 kite. i was very impressed.

i also liked how they sewed some extra attachment points for an FDS if wanted... and i personally prefer the FDS so i've already made a 5th line for this one.

super cool kite, looking foreward to winding it up in some strong winds for some big airs.

sounds good, glad to see they dropped the hard /soft line, always though it was "consumer decoration" and fouled solid feedback when soft esp. when new.

pulleys ?

Glad to see confirmation of my previous gut feeling that there was a challenge of wingtip underinflation :)
The soft/hard was referred to me as a solution (on hard setting) for ultimate lowend. Oh, well, too late :)

John, how was the low end, have you had a chance to fly it in its lowest wind range?

Two pulley total, or per side? it's A/B/C/Z with 4 pulleys total, right?

low end is basically the same, perhaps it might be a smidge better than the speed3/4 only because it can fly faster thru the window and you can get your apparent wind going faster.

2 pulleys for each side, 4 row mixer, 'standard' setup
