Surf boards

Hello,
I'm still a newbie, and have been riding on my nice twin tip, but i have noticed folk riding on surf boards. It looks like fun, especially as they can ride in much lower winds or with a smaller kite. I'm going to see if i can have a go on one but was wondering what folk say about em. Any tips advice much appreciated.

nice volume in the 50 L range, quad fin, nice point sail grip with quick sprinty feel , wide, tough top like bamboo, or polymer like on lib tech.

avoid straps , wax can be messy, but to start it seems using wax will teach alot about the feel of the board, then add grip pads to spots YOU KNOW by use should be for your style of riding

smaller rider could do well with sub woofer by cabrinah <#180

i ride firewire sweet potato 6' at #200

the lighter wind will take some time you will still need decent wind to get out and have fun, with efficiency a surf set up can get u out when TT is marginal or weak

my mate was riding a north nugget - bamboo construction so really light, he was ripping it! will beg him for a go next time. But he did point out to me by taking my board that there was (just) enough wind to get upwind on my twin tip...saying that he was riding with C kite compared to my Fat lipped DNA Bow.....i'll bug him for a go next time

Can anyone please tell me what are the things I have to check before buying the surfboards either from an online media or from an offline business.

Thanks
