JIBE Saturday Morning the 17th.

Many of you know that the Turtle Crawl Triathlon runs on Saturday morning during JIBE, but also that this does not normally present a problem, as the event is done and most people long gone before noon.

This year, the Triathlon is but part of a larger event called the "Nest Fest" which goes till 2 pm. There will be a turtle release around 1 or 1:30 pm.

There is also an obstacle course for kids that teaches them about the difficulties baby hatchling turtles have trying to navigate the beach when there is trash and other refuse left by humans. This will be right on the beach in front of Great Dunes, immediately south of JIBE staging area.

So this will be a bit of an impediment to us but a minor one. Remember low tide is late in the day Saturday, and that it is possible to put in to the beach south of that event and work south from there. You can even drive to the South Water Tower and park and put in there, then work north for a distance where there are very very few people.

So this is not a deal killer. And if you have kids in your party, it sounds kind of fun and educational, with local buggying being possible just a little later.

I think I'm slightly evil. When you said "obstacle course for kids that teaches them... " I only wondered if there would be ramps and/or pylons to kiteboard around.

I'm guessing that this is NOT, in fact, the format for this particular obstacle course.

Ha, that could be a stitch. I'm sure we could show them some obstacles.
