I can't get away until thursday... but anyone know if I can bring a portable fire pit and a bunch of firewood? Will be sleeping in a tent, and a
nice fire to sit by in the evenings would be great.

As long as it is in a pit, no problem. There has been a fire burning every night. Bring shorts!

Glen,
Check out www.deadbirdbuggybash.com and look for the gallery. The wind was great while I was there!
Cheers!

This was easily one of the best dbbb events i've been to since '97. We had fantastic weather with sunshine and warm temps the entire week. The
pre-event started with light N winds and then the wind gods shifted around to E/S/SE by Tuesday and held them there the entire rest of the week. The
weekend saw 3 and 4M kites in the sky and blokarts ripping across east beach. Thanks to everyone who attended and helped to make it one of the best
dbbb's in a long time.

Only my first one to attend, and already looking forward to next year... now to start saving up for a buggy! Although the 2am mountainboard run
down the beach in the dark was soooo much fun, stupid, but funnnnnn!

Midnight runs are a total zen experience! Just the forces of nature and your (sense-deprived) mind... Nothing to get in the way of the experience...
I could go on nad on, but I HIGHLY recommend a midnight run at least once. Dry lake beds are good because there is practically nothing to run into.

Midnight run sounds interesting. So, how you do it? Install a mini flash light on your buggy or under full Moon? Can you even see anything?

hey lee
what i use for night time bugging is a helmet with a light built in. something that a miner or mountain climber would use. plus i use lights on the
buggy that you can find in a bike shop. on the buggy you would want to use both a white front light and red rear light. if your going to buggy with
other buggyers. so they know if your coming or going. plus some guys use glow sticks on the kites. some guys tie them on the fly lines and some guys
just drop them in the kite thru the vents.

If the moons out your better off with no lights, possibly a red LED on the rear of the buggy. We just used safety high visibility vests and called it
done, your eyes will adjust to the dark and you'll not only see 10 ft in front of you, but you'll clearly see the kite and obstacles up the beach as
well.
