| My New toy box (FINALLY DONE)

Thought i would share a couple of pics of my new work in progress. I am designing a trailer that will allow me to carry our toys- (must be able to
carry 4 mtn bikes and 4 whitewater kayaks plus all of the boating and biking gear) and also be able to provide a quick camp/tent. All while staying
under 800lbs and have matching size tires and hubs to my truck

Now that is one nice trailer in the making. I would love to have one just like that for my bikes and and misc outdoor gear. Good move with the full
size tires too. Please post more pics when it's all done. |

Lookin good Scott, did you buy the trailer frame or fab it up yourself?
I've been thinking of doing the same thing for my buggies and all my kiting and camping gear.

That's a nice looking trailer and I agree with Annie, great call on the matching tire size. On of these days I need to get to making one of those for
myself. Not much room in my compact car for stuffing all the toys and keeping space for my lab and mastiff. NAPKA US314 (Pi)

Spencer- this was an old raft trailer that i never used- but i did have a machine shop built a new extendable tongue as well as axle brackets this way
i can adjut axle fore and aft 8 inches and also can extend tongue 3 feet for when hauling canoe or rafts
[img] [/img]

Here is the original trailer that this idea comes from- it has over 50k miles on it and am on the third set of wheels

How are you liking it? Looks awesome, can honestly say I'm more than a little jealous, and now contemplating my own build up of my flat bed trailer. NAPKA US314 (Pi)

Well The toy box is finally completed after 2 different frames, two lids and a custom tonneau cover. Custom "rain gutters" allows me to install up to
4 Yakima racks and slide them wherever I want on the trailer for balancing. Still need to fabricate an extendable tongue and a rear bumper but it is
now road ready. the keys:
1. can carry 4 mtn bikes and 4 whitewater kayaks- or my 14 foot whitewater raft and rowing rig.
2. the box is waterproof so my gear will stay dry.
3. Estimate total weight at 650-700 lbs
4. 31" wheels with matching bolt pattern of my truck so uses the same spare and 3500 lb axle but 1500 lb springs for softer ride.
5. Box size is 5 x 8 and 17" tall- so when carrying bikes on rack should sit below the top of my truck for aerodynamics

GREAT JOB SCOTT!... I assume this is the same one that was in your driveway you were working on when I was at your house last spring. You did it with
a lot of fiberglass correct?
Looks awesome buddy, can't wait to see it in person!
