New line?

I am planning on getting fixed bridle control bar for my ozone fury. Would I need to buy different line set if I change my handles to control bar or are they the same?

I used my Ozone lines that were on handles to put on my Turbo Bar. If you only have one set of lines, it might be a bit of a pia to keep swapping them from handles to bar.

I would be reluctant to get a normal control bar (brakes to the center/power lines to the outside) as you would end up steering the kite with power lines only - which will make it a bit of a slug. Go for a turbo or crossover type bar.

If you go to a Turbo bar it will be set to fly with all lines equal ( I believe ) so you can transfer.

If you build a bar you really should build a crossover or Turbo style bar. Build it for all lines equal.

If you build a basic bar with a simple pulley on the brakes you will be working backwards.

Your goal is to get hooked in ? Get a harness and hook in with your handles. The fine control available will amaze you and show you why handles are the way to go. Cost of hooking in with handles = a 2ft piece of climbing rope. Cost of making a FB bar ? I'm sure I spent hundreds before I quite trying.

I tried a climbing harness with pulley loop that I found in my parent's work shop. It works pretty nice :) now my arm can relax!

You might want to spend some time trying to improve that harness. Maybe add a spreader and hook ?

To me, that is time and money better spent ?

If you're using a climbing pulley + carabiner + climbing harness you should add a quick release. You really need a way to un-hook when things start to go bad. Fixed bridle kites don't have any depower and if you use a bar you can't even use the brakes.

I love Nahant but rarely get there anymore.
