Ozone Handles
Hi Guys,
Tried out my Ozone Flow 3m today, I got it a few weeks ago in very good used condition from EBay.All good on first flight but would not sit at the
Zenith as winds were to light and needed a fair bit of work, but no problem.Thing is, I've owned other kites in the past but never an Ozone, when I took
out the handles I notice a rope like strop connecting the two,I thought the Guy must have modified them for a harness or something?? This attached
strop line doesn't seem to come of and appears built in to the handles??? I found flying with this handle setup awkward, almost restrictive as you
can't open your arms wide if you wish, very different to the Flexifoil handles I've used in the past and really enjoyed using, don't get me wrong the
Ozone handles are the expected great quality, I then did some research only to discover many of the Ozone handles have this line connecting
them....what's the story with them Guys? Maybe I'm just not used to them? But why are they connected? First impressions are I much prefer the separate
Flexifoil handle set up!
Any comments appreciated.

these handles were designed to be used with a harness to reduce the load on your grip and arms.
Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

Two points:
There will be a way, im sure, to take the strop off. However when you start using a harness you'll want it on, so you may wanna consider that. strops
are usually attached with a larks head knot, some are secured internally though. Post a pic up, and guys will be able to tell you for sure.
Second, handles are interchangeable. If you much prefer the flexi ones you could take your flexi handles off the lines, and wrap the lines on a
winder, and then use them on your flow.
You can also buy handles from PKS for ~£15, depending on which ones you want. I was selling some a while back.
I like the ozone ones personally, they're my choice when I'm not using the bar.
Also got an old harness you can have for a tenner if you want.. Not sure of its size though. Its seen better days, but will do you fine untill you
invest in a better one.

I was very pleased to see that Ozone had started supplying their handles with strop pre-attached. (which should be removable) but you shouldn't be
needing to 'open your arms wide' just add a little brake input into the turns if you need the kite to turn faster.

The strop will come off Steve. It doesn't look like it, but it will. You have to get the strop loop a little loose first then start working the whole
handle through. It's a tight fit, but handle and kite killer will fit through. Once the one handle is free the other comes right off.

Remove the lines from one handle at the leaders.
On that handle loosen the larks head the hold the strop to the handle.
take the eye of the strop pull it over the top of the handle and slide it down the handle and off.
pull the now free strop through the strop loop on the handle
remove the larks head from the handle.

Ozone handles are the nicest to my mind.
Is it possible to design for strength, if the designer doesn't really understand what strength is?
