General Idea on $$

I would like to get one de-power kite that is more like a FB..Flyguy0101 suggested that I get a HQ II 5 or 7m..This would be for skiing in gusty conditions and my first kite with a bar. I think using a bar on skis would feel much better then handles.

2 questions..
About how much money an I going to have to save to purchase one of these RTF ? and What exactly is the difference between the II and III?

I flew the II and III 5m back to back and er...um....couldn't feel any difference.. The Apex IV is now available and the prices are very reasonable...probably the best value depower foil on the market...at least down here, anyways. Check that they've got rid of the steel ring on each wingtip where the bridle goes through (it's on the II) it wears through the bridle line pretty quick.

If it's ease of use and stability you're after, can't go wrong with the Apex.

I paid $400 for my used Apex III 7.5m about a month ago. Seemed like a decent deal to me... it came RTF.

Get out of my head! JK. I just picked up a closed cell depower foil on the FS page just for the same reasons you are talking about. I'm hoping one day to get back to some climes where I can try snow kiting, and get back to skiing in general. The reality has set in though that I do want to mess around with a depower foil with my buggy. My winds won't support an arc very well so I said what the hay! The kite I bought is an older model but sounds interesting so we'll see. I totally understand where you're coming from though, seems when the winds are up pretty good where I'm at they are also gusty. Good luck my friend...
