Just saw the new product PDF from HQ showing that the Matrixx 15m will be coming in a new Rasta color scheme.

Looks pretty cool, but in truth the green, black and white color scheme of the original looked cool to me as well.

The original colors make the Matrix one of the most striking kites in the sky. When one of the big ones was in the sky at nabx, you couldn't help but just watch it fly. It's hard to come up with a good color scheme but its easy to see when someone got it right.

It was awesome seeing the green 15m matrixx in Thailand....it definatly caught a lot of attention.

Bob, this kite has kept me up at night just looking at it. She's a real beaut!

I have a special savings fund ready for a 15m or a 12m and I really can't decide between the two!!! I'm hoping some rasta colours will make my decision easier.

The only place that I've seen the new color scheme is in the new product literature PDF file.

That's really sharp looking, far and away best Matrixx so far IMPO

Go figure....I've been saving up for a Matrixx 15m for months and now HQ changes the color scheme.

I agree with you; I will likely need to see it in the air before making a decision.

I'll write to Chris Shultz and see if he's got some in-flight photos.

I have some footage of the Rasta from the Powerkites.de team visit to the Outer Banks in October.

O M G. That kite is gorgeous. It's even better than the original color scheme.

The more that I look at the kite, the more I'm liking it. In the bright sunlight, the colors are vibrant and offer a lot of contrast.

It certainly does stand out from the LEI crowd.

WOW! and I thought the flexifoil rasta was cool.....This last pic above my post makes me just want to go out and buy one :D

If you observe carefully the posted photo of the Rasta Matrixx, you can see what appears to be either a sewn leading edge or some sort of leading edge stringer or stiffener.

This device (whatever it may be) appears to help keep the leading edge profile from deforming which occurs commonly on my Speed 3 kite when the apparent wind kicks in.

With Flysurfer's recent implementation of Gin's Leading Edge stringer technology, can can anyone confirm that HQ is doing something similar on the Matrixx Rasta?

Does the existing green-colored Matrixx 15m have this same configuration?


Chris is reporting that shipments of the Rasta Matrixx will commence near the end of January 2013 or thereabouts.

I'm not aware of any changes to the build of the Rasta Matrixx, other than it is a new color. IMO, what you see in that photo is a well designed and built foil profile.

This really good looking kite .... as agreed in Best looking kite thread .... Chris ... make sure you bring one of those to snowkite event ... this is where those colors belong ... I want to try 14m

I'm enjoying my 14m montana so much that my 15m matrixx doesn't get out of the bag much these days. I'm wondering if I should sell my matrixx and pick up the new color or wait for the new stuff that is around the corner

There is no Matrixx 2. The Rasta is a first generation design in a new color...only available in the 15m.

Hey Chris,

Did I see a new Hydra that was on the SUP Kite vid you guys did? My Hydra is a great kite! I'm liking all the colour schemes HQ does; very unique. You can spot an HQ kite a mile away haha :shocked2:
