JIBE Registration and links for 2012
Sorry to be late this year, but full JIBE registration info is ready on-line at the JIBE web page.
You can also download the compete 12 page JIBE Guide PDF with info, directions, checklists, maps, registration and waiver forms.
You can also go direct to secure on-line registration purchase on the Coastal Wind Sports web site. Registration this year is just $20 and includes insurance, new JIBE
T-Shirt, water and ice. For simplicity and schedule flexibility, there will be no group meals this year.
There will again be an optional group tour of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island. Highly recommended, even if you have seen it before as there is always new patient stories and new
science to share.
Looking forward to seeing you on Jekyll Island!!!

Yikes that was fast Scott. Registration rec'd.
It will be a busy week. The new Jekyll Island Convention Center, completed ahead of time and under budget, will be opening Sunday May 20th, right
after JIBE. There are no more detours as the new traffic pattern and roundabout is open and functioning. Everything looks very nice and Great Dunes
Park is expanded.
They are moving the greeting station (where they collect the parking fee) from the island to the causeway at the the Welcome Center, but that will not
be functioning by the time of JIBE.
ALSO NEW FOR 2012: The southern portion of the island, south of the South Dues boardwalk (just south of the Hampton Inn), is now a restricted area
and we cannot buggy past that point. During JIBE we have special permission to go as far south as the southern water tower, since that is more
recognizable and un-ambiguous. This means no more “shipwreck runs”. The reason is because of nesting birds (yes, Plovers) and other sensitive
wildlife. This still gives us neatly 2 miles south of Kite Beach, so please help our cause by cooperating with local authorities.
This year we will again have the "Kite Fort", with Chris parking his camper in the restaurant parking lot overnight. This lets us park the assembled
buggies safely overnight around the camper, all connected by a 90 foot long bicycle lock.

I was all set to make the trip again this year, till last weekend when I got the mail. My Cousin is getting married that weekend, I never thought the
guy would get married and now he is! It will be a great wedding, but will not replace my time at JIBE! Will miss seeing you guys!
