The US seems to be unable to abide open fields without building condos, shopping centers, golf courses, etc on them.
The UK is smaller by far but seems to better understand the need for green space.

Man see thats what we think, sad thing is this field was prime for soccer practice and frisbee and several people came out just to enjoy the open
space. I will keep you guys posted on the turnout. the fence that divides the field from the parking lot is still there so it is really hard to tell.
There use to be 2 places where water would stand on the field. We complained to the city several times about the water. Maybe they are fixing it. They
also tore up the exhausting road and parking lot next to the playground equipment. What does have me worried though is that they did try turning this
field into a parking lot several years ago and one of our local kiters was able to stop it. I am still in denial and probably will be till they pore
the cement on the now non existent grass.

Maybe you should walk up to the machine driver and ask if he knows the plans they have for it?

That doesn't actually sound all that bad then. And as it is still tied to the P&R, it sounds like you will get your park back when it is done.
Can always call P&R for a target date on the re-opening.

It depends on how much bigger they make the parking lot I guess.

Sucks man I feel your pain. When I went through this post and then read that announcement, I thought the exact same thing. I am learning that the
smaller towns seem more inclined to leave green space alone, where a larger center looks at a soccer pitch as a waste of valuable space that houses or
condos could use. Lost my kiting spot last summer for that same reason. Hope they don't ruin it too bad so you can keep your spot.

I suppose I'm very lucky living in Ireland. It's called the Emerald Isle for a reason I do plan on getting in touch with a farmer who who owns around a 2 acre field which is just about 30 seconds away from my house. As far
as I know, is not used for anything and it is regularly cut would save me
cycling about 3.5km or if I want to board, walk..
I hope this turns out ok for you!

Good to hear you get your space back!

I lost a very good landboarding location a year ago to a school....I couldn't believe it when I saw the construction signs going up. It was a 3
fields together, and the location was very good for the incoming winds. A school is a good thing, but still isn't fun to lose a location like that.
