I followed RC flyers for years, it just seems a natural evolution with the lighter and more powerful brushless motors and lipoly batteries.

The "flying people" are actually styro cross sections that only seem dimensional in the distance.
Looks like a few Brooklyn Hipster "Maker Faire" types put it all together in a video that's ideal against such a great backdrop!

Years ago, I've seen people online literally get airborn:
 lampshade-looking cube kites,
flying "pizza boxes",
multi-Saturn Ring looking things,
and even a foam, sectional model of the totally un-aerodynamic Starship Enterprise!
(looked pretty real up in the air!)

Like the tie-in to Chronicle at the end.

Only a matter of time before additional servo motors are added to move appendages, which should really freak people out.

WOOT! Google here we come.......I have a couple brushless motors and radio packs looking for a home. Wonder how much crap a guy can get into with
these....RC flying is technically illegal in Edmonton...falls under the same bylaw that makes it illegal to throw a snowball or practice your chip
shot in public spaces.
Really.

Legal if at a sanctioned flying field. Illegal in the 16 acre expanse across the street from me. The odd thing is we've had some "official" fields
parked right in the middle of busy industrial areas in the past so what's the difference between that and a park?
I don't get it either. Especially the snowball bit. C'mon! We're in Canada!
