Seem to remember the story of a guy who owned a label and had a rather unique business model ... rather than paying his bands directly, they uploaded
stuff for free to the interweb and let people download and use it as they will ... the idea was, as the GOOD STUFF got popular, it'd be picked up for
commercial applications and THEN the band would get paid ...
Instead, we get labels pimping utter utter garbage and coming down like a hammer on people who they decide are "pilfering" it
It's one of the things that f**ks me off about the digital age ... I own the damned CD but I'm not legally allowed to dump it on my computer then
transfer it between my devices? That's like having a book that I'm the only one who's allowed to read it ... or only allowed to read the book in the
living room, but not in the bedroom, on the balcony or on the crapper.
Then we got the whole region stupidity too
