we should get in on this next year

I think this was part of the coupe du Québec series, just west of Montreal for this one. Looks like the wind really ramped up, at 3:30 the riders are getting overpowered. A nice big field of racers though - looks great. Hey Chris, we'll have to make the races next year

Mood: They're ALL good ideas. Right up until they become BAD ideas.

Wow - I'd love to fly in a gang like that. Looks like chaos but I bet it's poetry in motion. Maybe Snowkite Soldier next year.....

3:30 - that's EXACTLY how I felt the first time I flew the SA in 20-25km/h winds!

I was supposed to hit The Coupe up at Venise but I got sick the week before and was knocked on my ass for 2 solid weeks. I hadn't been sick in at least 10 yrs. Bad timing.

I've been wanting to attend one of the races from the series and that one was only 2.5 hrs from here.

Looked fun.

I tried to fly up that way from Sandbar last Staurday but the wind died about 10 miles from Venise and I had to turn back. Barely made it to Sandbar and it even involved about a mile off unlocking the heels and skinning.

Glad I'm comfortable with launching Arcs underinflated. :wink2:

what are those kites that look like they are 2 line. Don't look bridled. Don't look like they are an inflatable. Flown on a bar.

As far as I know there were no U.S. racers there. Charles "the menace" Meding from the Sunapee area goes up there and races but he had to work that weekend and was on the injured list too I think.

I got wind of it at the last minute. Next year Rip, we'll get on it a little earlier.

There are a a good core group of twinskin users around here that kite ski and snowboard - Grant Fitz is also a very good skier. Ziggy however is stuck in his buggy seat - unless it's good enough for his ski buggy but that wouldn't be fast enough. He can be our mascot though :-)
