This company DID shut the lakebed down several times due to possible radiation exposure. The BLM was VERY serious the last time.

For those of you that have ventured to the southern part of the lakebed, you will have noticed a large fenced evaporation pond. Yep, water along with other chemicals were sent to that pond to evaporate. Therefore, anything that is in the water and doesn't evaporate just sits there waiting for the wind to pick it up and distribute it accordingly.

They plan on ramping production up rather quickly, so you may have a couple of years before it is closed for good.
