EPIC DAYS or Cheezy's Nahant adventure...

well last week i set out to see this so called nirvana that the Mass. crew are privvy to. I worked an overnight shift on Tues.
then hit the road when i got off at 08:30am. a little bit of traffic and a food stop here and there got me into Boston around 3:00/3:30. i checked into my room and tried to get some sleep after being up about 20 hours but the beach was calling. i had to drive down and at least see this great beach. by the time i had reached the beach, high tide had set in. and let me tell you, this is seriously HIGH TIDE. there was no beach to be seen!!! only water!!! the tide comes up to the sidewalk practically... well after seing this i started to wonder if my 5-6 hour journey was for naught... i have driven great lengths before to get skunked, but this would be bad... where is this great beach... :puzzled: this cant be...
these guys have fun here, i know it - i've seen pictures...

09:00 Thurs - speak to BuggyDanny on the phone with dismay in my voice. not to worry i'm told. low tide is at 15:00 and DS360 will be waiting for me. so i pack up and head down and this is what i saw....

10-15mph onshore breeze and a relatively empty beach... wow!!! this was going to be a great day for sure!! all in all I got in about 3-4 hrs of riding each on Thur and Fri. Fridays winds were a little shifty but still rideable, even for a novice like me. this is what EPIC DAYS are made of. i'm sure every body has their own definition of what Epic days are. there were no trips out and back, no sunken ships, no speed runs - just a noob sorting things out with the help of a few friends on a great beach!!! EPIC !!! i'm sure as time goes by this definition will change for me too, but what a great benchmark!!

Now, i must say thanks to the Nahant gang!! What a great bunch of fellas to ride and hang with!!! as soon as i mentioned i would be heading to town BuggyDanny sent out a big HEAR YE - HEAR YE, Cheezy is coming to Nahant to ride with us.
Thanks to Danny and Paul for taking the time to give me pointers when they could have been riding. Paul thanks for always having coldwater for me... i can still hear you shouting "KEEP GOING CHEEZY!!!"
also thanks to Rick, Dave, Andy, Jens and anybody else i missed for showing up to ride and welcome this New Yawker...

Good times Cheesy! This sounds like a great trip up north and I'm glad you had such an epic day.

Sounds like you had a great adventure. Nothing better than having your driving efforts rewarded with a proper stretch of beach and some descent winds. Here's to next time and whatever beach that you find yourself on. Thanks for sharing.
