any fields or surfing near Milton, Massachusetts?

Just heard on Discovery network that it's the windiest city in the country - 15mph average throughout the year. (it's also the brithplace of Bush the first and Bucky Fuller!)

That seems strange to me. While not far from the coast its not on the coast. The Blue Hills weather observatory is in the next town over. I'm wondering if the wind readings from the person who runs that (who is a local kiter) are skewing the statistics.

Coming from MA, when I think Milton, I don't think wind. There's good riding not too far from Milton, but I'm not aware of any riding spots in Milton itself.

I thought the same. B-Roc .... Milton??? Pfffttt..if i had a guess as to good winds in Ma . I would of guessed the Islands like Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard or even the cape. Not too familiar with western Ma too much so can't comment that direction. Even where I am at. The armpit of the cape. SE Ma Right on the water :singing: The winds are nice and smooth most of the time. just not any large fields :moon: (That I know of yet)

It surprised me too. I think they must have meant it's like a consistent 15mph thru the year (near the water?) rather than high seasonal gusts.

It was on a special about alternative energy technologies.

Those things are massive. see them here and there along the highway. I say strap on some coaster seats to those things and make a crazy ride and help the enviorment at the same time :wee:

Wow, this one threw me off. Milton's only 3-4 miles from the Pope park. My most used kite at the Pope is the 8.5 blade. Go figure:dunno:

Uhhhh, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that your most used kite period. I always determine my kite by going 1/3 to 1/2 of what you've got up....

...What's that, Dean's got a 6.5 up? OK, looks like a good 2.5m day. Dean switched to his 8.5? I should be good with my 4 now :wee: ;)

Yeah, if kteguru is who I think it is, I remember watching him at Wildwood and thinking he was nuts. Has mad skills, but is still nuts :D.

:lol::lol::lol: You guys kill me:smilegrin:. We don't get that much wind up here so of course the 8.5 gets some use,,,, errrr,,,,,,,, OK,,,,,,a lot of use. It's necessary to acheiving buggy nirvana:singing:. You definately got me on sizes though B-roc. If I get there after you guys and put up a similar size I always end up feeling I'm not moving fast enough and end up going bigger:smilegrin:. Maybe it's a seatbelt issue. I wasn't pulled from the buggy so I must need a bigger size:D. Wind tomorrow is 31mph from the west. Anyone joining me:wee::wee:
