Arizona Kiting? Flagstaff?

Anyone know where you can do some snowkiting close to Flagstaff. Last winter I saw a couple of kiters at the turnoff to go to snowbowl but I'm pretty sure it was on private land (at least there was a fence around the entire field). I know there is a lot of public land and wondered if anyone had discovered a sweet spot.
Also, I'm currently in Phoenix and am looking for something local. So far it's been a couple of parks with barely any room to really ride a board and ALWAYS gusty. Any ideas?
Thanks!

A good ARC will give you an edge with gusty inland winds. Wind shifting is a problem anywhere you go, and no kite will really give you a specific advantage in those kinds of conditions, but an ARC is usually the best in those types of situations.

As for the access to public spots... can't help you there. Sorry, I'll let some of the local AZ guys get their word in here.

Kiting in Northern Arizona

Hi,
I winter here in Flagstaff, AZ and am huge into kiting. In fact, I teach it and run a shop! Anyway, I have been kiting all around Flagstaff (not that I know all the spots though or anything) and I have found some good ones. The snow kiting here is great, especially in the spring. I am working on a "kite spots" page for my website that shows the spots i know of around Arizona. The snowkiting is good, but so is the land kiting with mountain boards etc. I hope do do more land kiting down in your neck of the woods. I am going on a recon trip to the Lake Pleasant area for land kiting spots. Looks good on Google Earth! I am looking for some good spots to teach land kiting around Phoenix, and just in general.

Anytime you want to snowkite, let me know, I have loads of gear and tons of enthusiasm for getting Arizonans into kiting! The spring is going to be rippin' up here. I have some great spots too.
