Nor Cal location?
Has anyone looked into buggying on this abandoned air field? It apparently was decommissioned in 1991 I think. It appears to be open access. We
wouldn't hurt anything to buggy there if it isn't in use any more.

On Google maps it says NASA Crows Landing. It is probably fenced off with no trespassing signs but may be worth checking out. The abandoned Navy
Airstrip in Alameda would be perfect too but it has the no trespassing signs, government property and the dreaded snowy plovers. I would like to find
a place to buggy closer to the delta. I am sure you will end up venturing over to Sherman Island for kitesurfing.
. Abandoned Airstrips Interesting description mid-way down the page.

That is an impressive find - I guess contacting the local business commission may yield some info for use? The landing strips are 1.4 and 1.3 miles
each - a good west wind or a wnw and you got some very fast action. And that place should get some wind.

I drove down and checked this place out today. I circled around it and many entrances are marked no trespassing but there is an entrance that isn't
marked as such at the NW end of the NW/SE runway. I pulled in and found two nice fellows there flying RC planes. I talked to them for a half hour or
so and they indicated that they get asked to leave from time to time with no criminal implications. They just leave as asked and come back the next
time they want to fly. They usually don't have any issue and go there and fly for 3-4 hours and leave without incident. I'll do a trial run next
chance I get and report what I find. The fellows I was talking to also pointed me to a smaller airport that is only about 15 minutes from home. I'll
check it out soon as well. I'm sure small kites and low winds will be the order of the day on tarmac but it merits study.
