So I'm thinking of shaking up my quiver. I love my eskimo and my access but just don't connect with my Pulse II and I'm thinking of replacing that
with either a 6m Gin Yeti or a 7m Montana / Frenzy.
The Pulse sits perfectly below my 10m but I'm not sure if the Yeti will or if it will leave a gap and based on their very limited distribution I'm not
going to be able to fly before I buy.
So that has me thinking of a 7m Montana but I'm wondering if that will leave a gap between my 4m Access and if I would be best served with a:
10m Eskimo, 7m Montana / Frenzy, 5m Apex quiver
or a
10m Eskimo, 6m Yeti, 4m Access quiver.
I'm assuming a 10m Eskimo / Montana / Frenzy are similarly powered so my big question is... are any of you riding a 10 / 7 / 5 combo in depowers or
can anyone comment on the range of say a 10m / 7m Montana / Frenzy combo and how a 4m Access or 5m Apex would sit below that.
Looking for the best combo with minimal overlap and no gaps.
Thoughts?DAKITEZ - 27-3-2011 at 09:22 AM
I know this is not exactly the comparison you are looking for but I had the 10 / 7 / 5m quiver of the apex 2's . I feel I would have been much better
equipped if I had a 12 / 7 / 4 combo.
from the 7.5m to the 10m was not enough difference to get me powered in the lighter winds. It came down to on the lower wind range I could use the 7m
and 10m in the same winds, but obviously I had more speed with the 10 than the 7m in lower winds.B-Roc - 27-3-2011 at 10:38 AM
That's why I like the idea of another 6m higher A/R kite. My concern is that a 7m Montana would be too close to my 10m but I have found a 6m Access
leaves a small gap between where it is flyable and my 10m Eskimo is too much. Wish Gin had a greater presence in the market so I could figure out
more easily if there 6 is a good compliment to their 10.tridude - 27-3-2011 at 10:50 AM
are you off loading the P2?B-Roc - 27-3-2011 at 10:54 AM

If I can find a suitable replacement. I'm not going on the water so I don't need a closed cell foil and I don't want to replace it with an Access.
So my quandry is to find a kite with a similar range at an affordable price.chudalicious - 27-3-2011 at 10:58 AM
Honestly, it's going to be interesting with the unity coming out. Very interested to see the AR on it and how it will replace the pulse2/psycho4.
Why didn't you get along with the p2?
If the unity turns out to be what I am looking before, I may have my 7 frenzy to sell ya!B-Roc - 27-3-2011 at 11:02 AM

As some here and in Nahant know, I have a love / hate relationship with that kite. I absolutely love it in its low - mid range but don't get along
with it in the mid - upper range.
I favor slower turning, more grunty kites and in the low range of the Pulse you can really use its speed and fly it aggressively to get the most out
of it. In its mid to upper range its too fast for me.kiteetik - 27-3-2011 at 04:14 PM
if you ever decide to part with the begos--shoot me a u2u--i'll buy em in a heartbeat........B-Roc - 27-3-2011 at 05:17 PM
The begos hold a dear spot in my heart. The 600 is my low wind weapon of choice and isn't going anywhere. The 400 is just a sweet kite for static
flying and riding. Neither are for sale at the moment but thanks for the interest.kiteetik - 27-3-2011 at 07:30 PM
i dont blame ya--i feel the same way.....lives2fly - 28-3-2011 at 03:17 AM
My quiver is a mess but it works!
Which is why I still love my Fixed bridles - they have such a big range of handling characteristics compared with depowers.
If its Gusty 15 - 20+ i use my venom, if its clean 12 - 20 i use my Twister.
I am borrowing a friends 9m frenzy a lot at the moment which is a good compramise between the float and stability of the Venom and the speed of the
Twister. Not flown it above 18mph so far though...
in 25+ i'm relying on my rage and bullet for boarding. The venom is manageable in 30 (just) but it doesn't react quick enough.
In low winds I use my Blade because it will generate pull out of nothing although it has a scary habit of stalling and then powering up again at
awkward moments!!tridude - 1-4-2011 at 07:52 PM
B,
Apex pilots have nothing but good things to say about them. The 7.5 Apex may overlap some on your 10m but thats just a guesstimate. When you decide to
off load the P2 please contact me........Ill take it!John Holgate - 1-4-2011 at 08:50 PM
I have the 4m Access, the 5 & 7.5m Apex II. I find there is more overlap between the 5 and 7.5 than the 4m. The 4m works for me in the buggy
from about 18 knots to 30+. The 5m Apex from 13-20. The 7.5m from 8-18 knots. If I was buying them again, I would still go for the 4m Access, the
5m Apex (or 6m Access) then step up to a 9.5/10m. Alternatively, the 4m Access, 7m Montana then something like the 12.5m Montana or 11m Frenzy.
