Its now 0527am and Im at YVR waiting for my first flight than its another 8 hours off to Amsterdam.

I plan to complete a movie by the time I land and upload it at Ruudje's or Ozzy's house.

If you have been following my FB page, thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. This has been six months or so in the making, with practice, begging from sponsors, etc, but its totally worth all the wait to get this far.
Thank to all that have supported me along the way. you know who you are, the list goes on and on and I dont want to miss anyone.

BeamerBob - 22-9-2010 at 06:50 AM

Very nice shots of the kites. Def a low wind day. I was hoping to see some fancy racing turns but they were all doing stuff I know how to do. I'll keep watching and learning.

ripsessionkites - 23-9-2010 at 10:33 AM

okay i have finally arrived in Holland and Im at Ozzy's House. Hello from Holand. The winter is the same as Vancouver BC so there wasnt much to get to use to, however things are going well now that I have left the airport

as you know my first flight was cancelled until 1030am which make me miss my connecting flight in MDS. I was suppose to at MDS at 1430pm and be on the next flight at 1545pm. I arrived at MDS at 1610 and I had to run to the next terminal to get my flight at 1730. So much for seeing the Mall of America in the time I had not like i really cared. anyways after 36 hours plus and sitting at YVR in the first place for over 6hrs Im really to buggy. oh but wait that wasnt the end of the madness, because of the quick connection my luggage didnt make it on board, so when I arrived at AMS at 0830am. I than had to wait another 2 hours plus because it was on the next airplane inbound. ruudje and i had some lunch.

the movie got done and im uploading now. got some pics of the PL HQ and got the inside scoop on the 2011 products. I cant say more but look out for the some wicked stuff.

Rip this was a great video. Wish I had a place like some of those to fly and ride. Best of luck over there.

arkay - 23-9-2010 at 06:46 PM

Great video! Grant, nice tires in action :D Who has the cooper? I often wish our beach was a big square instead of a long thin landing strip ;)

tdmc96 - 23-9-2010 at 07:18 PM

Another great video....Nice job Ricky!:thumbup::thumbup:
Good luck at the WC and don't forget our bet.....top 10!

ripsessionkites - 23-9-2010 at 11:31 PM

at the moment the winds are going to be light for WC ... the bigger guys are a little pissed off right now at the min 2 - 4 m/s.

current plan is to stay behind John and Arie and at the last moment pass. I will come in either 1,2 or 3 place based on the "lite weight" advantage I now have plus the Vapor 16m (summer session practices)

ive seen the dungeons of Peter Lynn NL and Vliegerop ... WOW!!!

today I go to Bowserdam and practice with Ruudje and Ozzy and some members of the Spain team.

arkay - 23-9-2010 at 11:44 PM

go team!

Bladerunner - 24-9-2010 at 06:43 AM

Gee Rip'. How will you ever figure out how to fly fast in low winds ? Not so upset with all that time on the 16m Vapor now EH !!!! :ninja:

Todd - 24-9-2010 at 07:48 AM

Another great video indeed! Can't wait to see some of your race footage, hopefully the pass at the end

flyjump - 24-9-2010 at 07:54 AM

Coolbreeze - 24-9-2010 at 09:15 AM

Show those guys on the other side of the pond that we can fly :Ange09: Remember our bet. top ten. Good luck

great day at Brouwserdam today ... winds where light to start and I couldn't wait longer to get riding. First the heavy rain was there, and cleared quickly and Ozzy and I setup the buggies and went for some runs. the wind dropped and I had a run on Ozzy's 16m just to prove that little asian guys can hold down big kites. Wind came up and I downsized to the 7.8m than spent the day trailing behind Ozzy (damn he is fast!!!) Sand driving is so much fun, and the little humps on the beach make for great buggy jumps/ramps. Ozzy drove to 56km and I was at 51km (i got in trouble for going passed the boundaries as I didn't notice the buoys on the water and on the beach, oops)
You all really need to put this place on your wishlist of places to visit. Wow!!!
Funny thing happened as I was following Ozzy upwind, and as I made my upwind turn my rear wheel came off. I felt like Arie for 30 seconds, and I've know learned to not let Ruudje tighten my buggy or I need to check it myself first.

Ruudje spend the time filming us, and we mounted gopro cameras on Ozzy and myself so there will be great video coming out the BC Xxtreme House shortly.

Tomorrow is Ouddorp for more practice as I will follow Ozzy around his course.

rocfighter - 24-9-2010 at 11:28 AM

Sounds like another great day. Now you need to come to WBB so we can congradulate you in person on a great job done. And we can steal your trophy!!! It is Jersey you know??

Bladerunner - 24-9-2010 at 04:19 PM

Is it just me or is 51 - 56 KPH not S.L.O.W. ?

The speed limit in Washington is 30MPH and when I checked my GPS I hit 39 mph holding back the whole time?

I want / KNOW you to go faster than that Buddy !

Coolbreeze - 24-9-2010 at 05:49 PM

Ja, its slow but we had no more than 2 to 3 Bft. Sand surface changes for driving from soft to hard to bumpy. I will push harder today since we are suppose to get 5, maybe 7 Bft.

Miss you guys over there!!!

Krohn1999 - 24-9-2010 at 10:54 PM

I wish I could come over this weekend and play with you guys! But I need to get some projects finished at work before I leave for Depanne!

Yep Ozzy is fast!! Wait till your at De Panne there are a bunch more from that sort!

Have fun in Oudorp!!
Tell Ozzy you want to go to the Bakery in Renesse and get Appleflaps, they are REALLYY good!!!

Your insurance policy is not here yet, I am going to have it sent per Email and print it myself. I hope there is no problem with this!

Watch out in Oudorp for the wood Posts sticking out of the sand!!
See you on Tuesday!!

ripsessionkites - 25-9-2010 at 11:24 AM

Ouddorp was the blast ... Force 7 winds ... WOW. long beach but crowded with kitesurfers on onshore winds. Going from one extreme to the other here. 16m / 11m (yesterday) to 2.3m (today)

I LOVE HOLLAND!!!

I got a crash course in the buggy exam, i need help / study hehehe, very technical, but learning a lot here.

Krohn1999 - 25-9-2010 at 11:08 PM

7BFT? what was your top speed? you should have been hitting around 100kmh!
The kite surfers can be annoying, I see them as moving turn points, makes things more interesting.

I am packing up everything today. See you Tuesday morning. Where should we meet? What time are you all showing up?
I plan on leaving here around 5am, that will put me in DePanne around noon.

contact Ruudje or Ozzy ... my phone bill is climbing.

not fast enough!!! what I think i should use is totally different than that I should be using. it was gusty yesterday and I went with the 2.3m, but I could have gone to the 2.7m - 68km only. taking it easy right now as its not race day yet. Ozzy got a call from Michel (pl designer) telling us not to buggy so much as we need to be ready to WC, than sleeping through WC being so tired. LOL.

im ready to ride Frustation Kite Beach by Tuesday.

have a safe trip, and see you soon.
